   Hey Z heads, im thinking about changing my 3 speed auto trans in my 82' 280ZX to a 4 speed auto, is this simple to do? what thans am i best of getting & around how much will it cost? any modifications that will have to be made, or any other info would help greatly...... also will my genie 6-2-1 headers off my 260z 2+2 fit my 280ZX (L28 E, N42 head)? thanks a load, mellow:dead:

   Okay guys, I just picked up an early 1978 280 five speed to put into my 72 with an automatic. The big question is, will the clutch and brake pedals from the 280 fit into the 240? I thought that the supporting structure in the dash looked different. I have no problems modifying parts but I hope I dont have to. I am sure I will need the driveshaft out of the 280 as well right? thanks in advance for the help.

   I have purchased an 83 2+2 Turbo w/ 5 speed, complete car and intend to use the F54 block along with my P90 head for a turbo conversion for my 78 280 coupe. I have searched and have read lots of good info but have not found a complete list of what I should strip from my donner car. Is there such a list posted or could some one please list what I should remove from the 82 car? Thank you for your help.....mayolives

   My 73 has the dealer installed AC. Like many, it doesn't blow much cold air, and I've confirmed that it does have a full charge of refrigerant. I'm getting ready to swap in a 280 motor from an '80 280zx and I received it's compressor in the deal. My question is if the new compressor is compatible with my existing system and if it would improve its performance. Given I have the engine out, there will never be an easier time to make the swap!

   i am swapping a 280zx turbo motor into my 71 240z. the garage is going to open the 280 motor today. is there anything i should look out for, or ask questions about? is there any parts that i should get to make it run well or better? this is of course more performance parts that i am talking about. about 300 hp is what i am going for.

    Bumper help!!!

    I have a 73 240z and hate the way my front bumper sticks out. So I went and picked up a pair of bumper brackets today that came before the 73 and have no clue on how to make them work. I have heard that the brackets where all I needed to bring it closer to the body. Has anyone ever done this? Please help. My original ones look twice the size as the pre 73 ones. Oh and do I have to make new holes for the corners since it will be moving back a bit? Thanks.

    280zx bonnet, nose cones & qtrs on to 260z

    Hey All posting this for a friend who's had a bit of an accident with his Z. He's wondering if the 280z or 280zx bonnet, qtr panels or nose cones will go on to a 260z 2+2.. and if so, would they look normal? I know the 280zx is more boxy but I'm not sure how much this is apparent in the qtrs and nose cones! Any help on 280z or 280zx panels and if they'll fit (or if you'd want them to fit) a 260z 2+2 would be ace cheers guys!
