Looking for a set of guard badges to put on my Z (not in a hurry, just keeping my eyes open for a nice set or a well priced new set) but should they be plastic or metal? I have seen both pop up from time to time, but which ones would be strictly correct for the car? The car is a 73 240z RHD Guard=Fender

Head Swapping 1 2

I'm in the planning stages of rebuilding my L-28. I already have 71 round tops with a K&N. 6-1 headers with a 2 1/2 exhaust. I want to do some head work and I'm planning on putting in a mild cam and having some port work done. I currently have a N42 head that needs work. I was considering a E-31 head for the higher compression but heard it has smaller valves than the N-42. Any suggestions?

My mum has a 200sx turbo (the UK call them a Nissan Sivia ZX Turbo) and I have recently learnt that they came with a 4.11 diff which fits in a 240z. My mum has had this car standing for a few years and it is quite rotten, she is thinking of taking it to the junk yard and if so I might keep the diff if you all think its worth keeping. Are there any advantages to this diff? Is it more hassle then its worth to install? Thanks..

Hi, I have a 72 240. I was at a car show here recently and met a couple of guys who tell me the A/C unit in my car won't cool it. I live in Houston, and it gets very hot here in the summer. The car at show had been fitted with a later model compressor, condenser, evaporator, and I think blower motor from a 280. The comp. was located on the bottom of the engine on the driver's side. Does anyone know what year parts are used for this? I want the car to cool. I am restoring the car, and currently have the engine out. Thanks. George

I was going to go shopping fuel line hosing today when I noticed that I was probably in trouble... I swapped out my 260z fuel tank for a fuel tank from a 240z (was that bad?). The first thing I noticed today was that the 260z has two equal sized fuel lines running from the front of the tank towards the engine. The 240z seems to have two different sized fuel lines running (as far as I can tell from the 240z's gas tank). I checked whatever reference manuals I had but they all located the fuel lines on a different place on the gas tank, lower and more center, and they seemed to show that they were of equal size. Should I just use an adapter to connect the smaller fuel li…

Anyone had any experience with swapping an engine, engine/tranny or engine/tranny/diff from a 300ZXinto a 240? If not, any opinions as to the advisibility of said swap? If I understand correctly the 300's V-6 weighs less than the straight 6 with twice the horsepower. Sounds like a pretty sweet deal.

Firstly, the body is trash... not even a resto candidate. What I like, that I might use: -perfect condition bonnet (ventless, unlike my 77) -4 excellent condition "BBS" style wheels, Black w/ Aluminum "rings(?)" -nice condition Corsa type steering wheel -windshield is perfect (mine has rock chip, and my rubber seal is hard and shiny) .... AND, the shifter knob tells of 5-speed. If so, I'd love to have that 5th gear (provided the tranny is in good shape:ermm: ) The car appears to not have ran in many months/few years. I'm waiting to hear back from the guy if it's still for sale. QUESTION: Did 73's come w/ 5 speed?
