Parts Swapping

I want a 5 speed but cant find any zx or z around that seems to have them. I want to know if there are other models of Nissan or any other car that share a similar trans. hopefully you can tell me also if the 280zx 5speed and the 240-280z splines will match when swapping in a 5 speed. thank you

OK Guys I'm new to this forum. I tried searching and have not found what I'm looking for. I have a 1977 280Z 2+2 with a L28 EFI engine, Auto Trans car for Parts. I just got a 1973 240Z with the stock 240 engine and round top carbs. I wish to put this whole turbo setup into this car once I get all of it onto the L28. Parts I have to work with: I have a P-90 head. Turbo. wiring. turbo computer. Turbo intake and exhaust manifolds. I will know tomorrow what car these parts came off of but guess its a 280ZX Turbo. I want to take the L28 out of the 77 280 and put all the turbo gear on it. What will I need to do to this block to make it work other than add the P-90 to it? Thick …

On my 240z the PO put in the XR 3000 Electronic Ignition System with the L24 engine. That engine is now toast and I plan on putting in a 280z engine. Would I be better off using the 280z distributor or stay with the electronic ignition from the 240z ( using same distrib. as l24) for best performance? One other question, in that L24 engine it had the E88 head with a Isky racing cam, don't have specs atm but would that fit into the 280z head? I don't know what head it is yet, getting engine tomorrow. So is the cam size the same in the heads so it would simply replace the stock one? I don't know much about cams so any help would be great. Does 280zx oe radiator fit my 240z without any installation problems? I heard the 280zx radiator is bigger and it will hit the hood underneath , Can someone help me find oe 240z looking radiator ? Anyone know the exact 240z radiator nissan part number?

Hi my 1975 280's tank is shot I have a 240 tank that seems to not fit.Is there a difference the spare tire well seems in the way.Also the fI has been removed 2/2barrel webbers.Any help would be great.Todd

Ok, I need some quick help identifying which Window Regulators are the same. I've been looking for a driver side window regulator for my 1975 280z. I know for sure that the 77-78 are different and that the 70-73 are different. So I have someone who has a set from a 74 260z and he also has a set from a 70-73 and he has confirmed that it has different mounting points. So is the 74-76 the same?? I'm having a real hard time finding these.

Is the Windshield Glass from 1970 to 1978 interchangable? I have the original glass from 1972 in the garage. It is quite pitted from the years. My car will be out of the paint booth in a week or so. I need to know if I need to buy glass for a 1972 or can I get any one from '70 - '78 ? -Jeff

Does anyone know where one could find a windshield wiper handle? By handle I mean the thing that holds the wiper and connects to the motor. The one that I have broke today due to, well being run over by a Jeep, so all I have is the driver's side. Thanks Jan

Hey guys, I have a 1977 280z coupe that I have been driving without windshield wipers for quite some time now. Bit me in the arse this weekend when I was driving pretty hard on some canyon roads and then a torrential downpour occured😎Needless to say the hazards came on haha. Anyways I have the old blades sitting here with me, but I can't find a proper replacement, as there are so many options of uglier modern ones. Can anyone tell me what type of blades I have and if I should keep them, do a wiper refill, or if I should swap to something else. Problem is I have no idea where, or what size refill I would need. ok my main question is this i wanna rebuild one with a L28 motor and a E88 head as i do plan on boosting this monster. however i'm kinda confused as to the emission laws since i'm mix matching engine parts how would you class this ? would it still be exempt from emissions ? or would it follow the emission standards for the head or the block ? i thought of twm fuel injected kit to convert the engine over. also how hard would it to over bored the engine to a 3.1L? i'm really confused about this stuff as i've never done a full engine rebuild but i wanna learn. i plan on doing this as a project car. and i just love this body style
