   What coil resistance to run with zx dizzy upgrade

   I haven't seen any solid directions on what resistance coil to use when running a 240/260z with the 280zx E12-80 distributor upgrade. I read some stuff that said to use a 3.5 ohm coil since the ballast resistor was gone, but then other forum members recommending a 1.5 ohm unit. Regardless of speed part recommendation, what resistance coil should be used?

   Hi I have a 1979 datsun 280 z, when i got this they welded the rear end which i don't like. My question is what year car can i get the rear 5 lug hub and rear differential off of that will bolt up to my 1979 datsun that had the 4 lug. Thanks

   Hey guys my name's seth. I have a 77 280z. I have it up and running and got a good deal on some turbo stuff. As for the ecu,s I got one seems to be an na and one seems to be a dinan tuned 300zx unopened ecu. I also picked up the turbo dizzy. Got the manifold and turbo for 75$ !!!    EDIT: I think I'm going to buy the big C style. I just tried a pry bar I have on another head and it worked pretty good. I might make a wooden pry bar for under the cam, a hammer handle works pretty darn good already. I'm wanting to get my cam lobes centered with my rocker's pad. I'm going to try this myself. I know that will be looked down on but I have more time than money. The head is off the car and I can't decide which spring compressor I need. If I get the one that hooks to the cam whats to stop the valves from pushing down? I have a 1" x 1" or there about block of wood for breaking the collets loose.    After 39 years of dutiful service my A/C compressor has frozen. I actually had the hood up watching the motor idle as it happened. I saw a brief post on a forum that alluded to a 300ZX compressor fitting the 280Z but the post was left unfinished. Is there a swap from another year model I can use?

   Hi! Steve from Brownstown here. I have a 77 280Z auto that I'm converting to a 5speed from a 82ZX. I wonder if the clutch/brake pedals or assembly is compatable with the 77Z. Also have extra parts from the 82ZX available. All the glass is good. The body is rusted, however it had almost new fenders on it. Still can read the made in Taiwan stickers on them. Thanks if you tell me about the compatability with the clutch/brake assembly.

    Hi - I've replaced my stock 240Z distributor with an E10-80 from a 1980 280ZX. I've replaced the advance plate mechanism, magnet ring and now also need to replace the vacuum advance which bolts onto the outside of the dizzy. Does anyone know the correct part number for a *single-line* vacuum advance which will fit into this distributor form/fit/function? Note, the original 280ZX vacuum controller had 2 vacuum lines -- I think one was advance and the other for anti-backfire retardation -- but I only need a simple 1-line controller which has the correct mount hole location and arm length.
