Was wondering if anyone happened to have a portion of the passenger side inner fender from a 240z that they'd be willing to sell, looking for the inner fender from the firewall to the strut tower about.

I picked up a cheap L16 original atsugi water pump and have started researching to see if it will fit my L28. I know about the pulley offset problem and was wondering if anyone has swapped water pump pulleys from another datsun to correct the offset problem. The size of the impellers looks comparable to the L28 pump despite the fact that its for a smaller engine. Since the source of LD28 water pumps has long since dried up, I ran across a page where someone compared the impeller size on the Z20-22-24 and it looked like the LD28 pump with the larger impellers and the post said it bolted on the L4 with no modification. But there again the problem of L4 and L6 pull…

I have a rebuilt T5 from a 1983 280ZX Turbo that I want to put into my 73 240 Z. I have read many of the threads and have a good idea of what I need to do. All I need now is the correct bellhousing and driveline. I have searched for a couple of weeks now and have not found any. Any help finding a source for these would be greatly appreciated.

Hey guys. I've got a series 1 240Z that I'm slowly restoring as I drive it. I've developed an intermittent grinding noise from the rear that I'm fairly certain is the U-joint... possibly wheel bearings. Either way, I know the early Z's have u-joint issues due to the drive shaft length and a popular fix is changing to a 280z drive shaft. What other parts need to be replaced in addition? Are the u-joints on the Z's overly difficult?

I've got a '78 280z (4 speed), and I'm afraid that the transmission is on its way out. I was considering replacing it with a 5 speed, but I've heard mixed things on the early and later 5 speeds. What's the difference? -Ben

I put a 3 row 280 radiator in a 240 without any problems. The automatic transmission cooler on the bottom was the only difference between the two, it hangs 2" lower on the bottom. I got it from Advance for $142 after a $50 coupon code worked. I took a chisel and knocked off the pre welded nuts and used the 12mm bolts and nuts that were on the 240. Put a ZX shroud on and two new Gates hoses. After driving it for 30 minutes the front of the head and thermostat housing read 165 degrees and the rear of the head read 138, the block was 122 degrees. Very happy with it. ToughOne or Ready-Rad Radiator 433634: Buy a car radiator from the experts at Advance Auto Parts

I'm just doing a little intelligence gathering here. I have not decided to actually do this. If you have the parts I need though, please PM me or speak up. My wife loves to ride in my Porsche 914 and 911. She sits there quietly and looks serenely happy. I ask her if she wants to learn to drive them and she says yes but when I actually take her to a parking lot to teach her, no way! The Z is different though. She calls the 914 and 911 cute but when I pull the Z out she calls it sexy in a voice that lets me know, she is not kidding. Now some of us are lucky enough to have our wives or girlfriends share our love of cars. I am not one of these lucky ones. She likes to ride in…

Trying to gain a few hp. I have aiready swapped the flat tops(carbs) out for round tops. Would like to go to a 72 E-88 head and a stock 260z cam or a stage 2 cam. Also change the exhaust manifold to a 72 or add a header. Also replace the timing chain. Hoping to gain about 15-20 hp.Is this possible.

I know there are similar threads but none that deal with my specific trans and I would really like to be sure before starting. So I've gathered from reading other posts that the transmission should bolt right in but I'm unsure about all of the extra wire ports that seem to be on the 83' trans. Can they be left in connected? And is there anyway I can tell if this transmission is from a turbo or non turbo version (I hear the non turbo is better) any feedback would be great will post a pic if that will help expedite the process

I'm putting a ZX distributor on my car and I want to do it right. So could I get you guys opinion on my spindle position? Should I drop the oil pump and get it at 11:25? It's at 1:35 now. And with the #2 on the sprocket showing the closet to the timing mark doesn't that mean it's actually in hole #1? Aren't they separated by 8 sprocket teeth? Thanks for any advice, Cliff
