What kind of battery are you running with a stock setup? I have a 69 510 4door that came to me without a battery. I read that a size 24 was stock, but that seems too tall - the terminals are almost touching the inside of the hood when its closed. Is there a shorter battery that works well?

We have the car parts manuals web pages that show the exploded view of the 510 and the 240z and give the parts numbers. Is there something like this for the 510 SSS? I am looking for some of the carb parts numbers but can't locate a diagram or break down. Thanks, C

The September issue of Classic Motorsports mag has a section on small-bore sedan racing that recognizes the 510 for its success in the sport. Included are sidebars with BRE's Peter Brock and John Morton.

After my transmission went out I decided to remove it all. From the rear main seal to the input shaft. Had my transmission rebuilt by Standard Gear & Transmission of Fort Worth. I got a used flywheel from the All Z Car Specialist of Fort Worth. Standard also resurfaced the flywheel. I used a harmonic balancer pulley to take off the flywheel. That way I didn't have to take off the oil pan and wedge a block of wood in the crank to keep the flywheel from spinning. I used a 5 in 1 tool to take off the rear main seal. No damage. I used a small 2x4 and hammer to install the seal very carefully. Make sure you lube the seal, crank, and block so the seal goes in smoo…

Cody's 510 has these wheels on it. They are 195/70- R14. I don't know how wide the rims are...when he turns too hard they scrub on the frame rails. We would like to replace these wheels with something else, but I need some help finding the right size. We are leaning towards a Panasport type wheel. I have searched at the "Realm" and read the FAQ thread. Now I need some of the resident experts help @zKars By the way, what do you all think of the new color? The whole car is going over to the orange, one panel at a time...

We almost have Cody's car road ready but he is complaining about too much steering slop. I need to look at it but I wanted some pointers on what too look at and if the steering box can be tightened up? I know to look at the ball joints and wheel bearings but what else?

We have Cody's fenders, hood and valence painted and pretty much assembled but I need the screws for the headlight trims, grills, and hood and fender trim. Most of these are NLA. Can somebody help me out with parts or give me some direction for what I am looking for?

Datsuns have gotten a lot of attention on Bring a Trailer lately (maybe "appreciation" is a better term?). Add to the list their salute to Nissan's cult classic film from the 2.5 Trans Am 510 era: http://bringatrailer.com/2017/04/29/bat-inspirational-video-against-all-odds-the-datsun-510-wins-the-2-5-trans-am-series/
