If anyone out there wants to sell some parts, looking for an L24 Oil Pan and engine front cover (water pump housing) with distributor drive shaft. I live in the southeast US. Trying to finish up a restoration, and the machine shop lost some of my parts over the last couple years! Thanks in advance!

Gday! New to the forum so if i am posting in the wrong section, please forgive me. I have done lots of homework and have been looking all through the forums to build an idea, so this isn't my first stop Really keen on finally getting a start on my Z car dream, just worried my ambitions are getting in the way. Local bloke here in Florida has a gutted 75 280z for 1500: generally rough in most factors, but is rust free and the body is pretty clean. She has no engine, just a P30 block / E88 Head... I'm confident everything else is mechanically sound with the trans, suspension etc... What can I expect to pay to get her back on the road? ie: Replacing the engine here in …

Has anyone used MSA's big throat throttle body + K&N cold air intake upgrade on a 280Z(http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/PFFC12/11-3021KI)? If so, what were the results? Was it worth the money? Did you need exhaust upgrades to realize benefits?

I'm thinking about rebuilding 71B 5Speed tranny before swapping with my automatic tranny. In order to rebuild tranny, I'm thinking about buying shop press. http://datsunzgarage.com/borg/ Datsun ZCARS mentioned 12tons press, but I was wondering 6 ton is good enough for it. http://www.harborfreight.com/6-ton-a-frame-bench-shop-press-1666.html I don't want more bigger tool occupied my garage. Does anyone use this tool? Thanks,

My 240Z is a 7/72 build, apparently right on the edge of some changes like brake and clutch hydraulics and carbs. I'm ordering parts to get it running, and want to replace the clutch master and slave cylinders. When it was running, last time I replaced the clutch MC, I noticed the throw was shorter than the old one, and it didn't feel like the clutch was completely disengaging even when the pedal was all the way down. I think I got the wrong MC. My question is, can I just order the master and slave as a set for, say, a '73 Z, just to make sure they "match?"

I have a snapped off valve cover bolt. Before removing the valve cover and extracting it I would like a new set. So I am looking for the part number, I would like OEM bolts. After some online searching I came up with 13274-E3000, is this correct? I would like to know before ordering from courtesyparts.

I am having trouble finding out which direction I should take. I have a 1973 240z and I also have a complete 76' 280z motor. n42 block with dished pistons and n42 head that I am planning to put in the 240. Question is should i use the n42 head with the su carbs or should I put the e88 head on the n42 block with su carbs. I also have read that maybe I should source an f54 with flat pistons and the n42 head. The plan is low cost and a fun street car maybe a few road track days but mostly a fun street car to drive while I slowly restore the body. With the low money in mind and since I have the 2.8 motor would it be worth settling for the n42 block with either the n42 or e88…

Hey guys im doing the RB swap and dont need the motor any more. it comes with all the bolt-ons too! has the round top SU's and smog equipment eliminated (still have it if you want it). iv dropped about $800 into this motor before i decided im hungry for more power just asking $1000 for both or $600 for the engine and $400 for the trans. it has 40k miles since the last rebuild. and 150k total.

Short taking time off work to take this head down to somewhere with some scales, does anyone know what a E31 head weighs? Valves, springs and towers installed. I have two spare ones that I'll never use and I've sold one so now just working out freight. Cheers all....and yes, I'm working on my zed again....about time. James

I have a 75 280Z which supposedly had significant motor work done, the extent of which I do not know. It has custom 6-2-1 headers and what appeared to be new parts under the valve cover as there was very little to no signs of wear. I took off the valve cover and checked tappet clearance. I timed the car according to the factory spec. but it has a little backfire when the throttle is released especially at higher rpm's. I think it's out of time slightly but I can't remember which direction i should go to try n fix this. Timing? or should I look at other things as well?

I am debating on this: my current 4 speed trany is healthy, tight no issues, recent clutch and bearings this is the way it came to me on the Z purchase. I came across and secure a 5 speed trany, did my research on it on and it is the proper one for the swap.My question to you guys ....I don't want to open a can of worms ,encounter problems,go money crazy on this. Your input will be very valuable to me. My Z is a 72.
