My '73's original radiator sprung a leak, so I am replacing it with an MSA aluminum 3-core unit and am taking the opportunity to replace almost everything else in the cooling system (water pump, fan clutch, thermostat, hoses). Before I removed the fan and water pump, I test-fit the new radiator. Not much clearance: I could barely get my index finger between the center of the fan and the new rad. The blades themselves had a little more room though. I called MSA about the narrow clearance, and they wondered if there was a spacer there from dealer-installed AC (the AC system was removed by the PO many years ago). I saw nothing that I would describe as a spacer until I remove…

My EGR tube on my 1978 280Z has a bad exhaust leak where it comes out of the manifold. The past owner tried to repair it with metal tap but that obviously didn't work too good. I want to take it out and plug the hole in the manifold. I've done a lot of research on the correct plug size but can't seem to get a common answer. I've heard 22mm, 3/4 NPT Brass and several others. Does anyone know the correct plug that I need? Thanks' Dan

hey guys, i'm out of idea's here. i have had a bit of a tick on my 77 280z. so i read up, and learned how to do a valve adjustment. first did it cold with the .010 and .012 numbers, so i could understand what i am doing. then did it hot with the .080 and .010 numbers. still ticks. oil is fresh, 5w30, filter is new, 100k on the odo, pulls hard and doesn't hesitate. just annoys the heck out of me!!!! i am beginning to think i am not adjusting it correctly. as in what i think is .010 isn't really .010. so i plan to have a shop that i know about do it again while i watch. is there anything else that it could be? anything else to check? oh and i know its cylinder number 5 or …

http://www.rxauto.com/application.htm I have an old Toyota PU with a V6, working on my third blown head gasket in 325K miles. I put the first two gaskets in and they blow in the same place every time. No water in the oil. I don't want to do the job again if it can be avoided and the truck is not worth paying to have it done. So the question is would you go the $113 at the risk of having to do it anyway? So anybody here try this stuff?

Has anyone used the Motorsport 3 into 2 Exhaust Header or the performance 6 into 1 header? I had an exhaust manifold with the smog fittings but must have discarded it since I'm taking the smog stuff off. Leson learned, "Don't discard anything until you really know what you have available to replace it".

I have a 77-79 wide ratio early five speed that won't go/stay in fith gear. From what I have read that usually signifies a bad syncros, gear/bearing free play, or ball and detent spring. Unfortunately, the kits available from Drivetrain.com and other google searches don't contain the 5th gear fiber ring syncro. I spent awhile at the dealership and they couldnt help either. Has anyone got a lead on that part or will I be stuck rebuilding one of my 3 four speeds? On a side note, I think I have the stock 3.364 rear end and I guess the five speed gearing isn't favorable in that combination.
