Hey guys In the next few weeks I'm planning on replacing the master and slave cylinders on the clutch as well one of them is leaking. Does anyone know where one could procure the rubber hose that goes between the slave and the master. Mine is in pretty bad shape and since I'll be down their I might as well replace that too. Thanks all Jan

I found the throttle chamber to air regulator hose had a 1" long crack in it. It was very sneaky. I noticed it when I remove the hose to clean a sensor located under it. Where is a good place to get a replacement hose for this? And that leads to another question, in general where can I get all the hoses I need to replace fuel lines, vaccum hoses etc...basically all the rubbers under the hood that might need replacement. Thanks!

After having issues with the oil spray tube it looks like I will have to have the cam reground (may as well do valves also). My question is that I have heard of others who have swaped heads with later model motors (L28). After looking in wrecking yards I noticed that the later L28's have internal oiling for the cam. Would these heads work on my L24 and if so what mods may be required. Any help appreciated. Thanks, Eric

Quick question, I am installing the timing chain on my 78 280z engine. I am currently putting the chain tensioner on to the block, in the book, how to rebuild your ohc engine. They mention a gasket that goes behind the tensioner, before you mount it to the block, no such gasket in my rebuild kit. I looked at other sites that are selling just the chain tensioner, and the pictures shows no gasket. Any help would be appreciated.

Went out yesterday to check the timing (finally got a timing light), marked the timing plate on the engine to be able to see it and found no, zero, nada, nothing timing mark on the crank pulley to mark. I know the mark is small based on the one on my spare engine and after turning the pulley multiple times, feeling the edge and running my fingernail around the entire edge, still no mark, dent or anything. Whats next and don't tell to pull the radiotor and all the belts!

I recently bought a rebuilt e88 head with a 280z cam which has the letter A and E30 stamped on the cam. Could anyone verify that this is infact a 280z cam? Also i was looking at my old stock cam (on my stock e88 head) which has L E30 stamped on it. Could anyone point me in the direction of where i could find specs on these two heads and cams? Thanks.

After years of racing without a DNF, I finally sheared a stub axle on the race car. That axle had even been cryo-treated. So, I dipped into my spare parts bin and found two stub axles that look like they would do the trick. But wait, it appears like they are slightly different. The threaded ends have the same thread pattern but the diameter of the threads are slightly different and I mean slightly! The stub axle with the larger diameter has a lock nut on it which is identical to my sheared axle. The axle that has threads ever so slightly smaller in diameter has a castle nut on in which BTW, makes sense as that same axle also has a hole through the end. Here is my p…

Just picked up a 1974 260 with an L24 engine, eventually I plan on rebuilding the car frame up and swapping out the L24 for an L28 turbo, but would at least like to have some fun with it till I get the money and a place to do the rebuild. Unfortunately the L24 with dual weber 32/30 carbs seems to be lacking in power. I know that it at least needs a valve adjustment( a bit of annoying tapping). But other than that it runs great the carbs seem to be fine. When i rev it up it sounds awesome and doesn't flutter has consistent pull all the way through the power band. But just lacks in power all together. My brother has a 4 banger prelude rated at 161 hp and it feels 10x …

I have a 75 280 with 4 speed tranny. It has a loud "buzzing" type of sound in 1st and 2nd, quits down a little in 3rd and pretty much disappears in 4th. It dosen't matter what RPM, and it sounds like its coming from the tunnel, but I'm not positive. Any ideas?

Hi! I am wondering what engine to put in my 1971 240Z - i want a L-series non turbo. I want to get 200HP at the wheels. Should i go "original" with L24 and build and stroke it up for performance? Or choose the L28, that I have been told not revs so good as the L24? But maybe is more easy (and cheaper) to get up to the wanted 200whp? Hope you will help!
