I want to build a mild setup for my 280z, hope you guys can give me ideas and examples on your setups. I was thinking using my l28 with mild cam, ported head and swapping efi to carb. I heard many ideas for the head and cams, I was hoping to get some actual setups from ppl running them.

I couldn't find a straight answer in search, one poster implicitly recommended but I want to be sure. L28 in 240z, running SU carbs, the PCV connection on my balance tube is nonexistent (either filled in or came that way), and I just have the crankcase tube hanging out with no hose attached to it. I also have a hose connection not used on the SU air guide, on the inner side opposite the PCV, since no air pump is installed. Could/should I connect a hose from the crankcase vent to the air guide, without worrying about any pressure related issues?

I am in desperate need of helps and suggestions! I have a 1971 240Z that I cant get to run correctly. I will try to be as detailed as possible in explaining my dilemma. I would like to preempt your responses with sincere gratitude as I have about given up in my attempts to solve this problem. I go to college in WV and don't have the money to cover the mechanic bill to fix my poor z car. Specs: 1971 240z, rebuilt straight six, one wire alternator Tools at my disposal: Every hand tool imaginable, a timing light, a carb sync tool First, I bought my z with four working cylinders so I, along with the mechanic that worked there, rebuilt the straight six. After we were finish…

Hey guys. In the past couple of months I've noticed that I'm loosing fluid from the clutch. I haven't yet identified where it's leaking from but I'm leaning on the slave as for what I've been told the master tends to leak into the car. (on the floor). Anyhow, this afternoon I checked the fluid and I'm out almost completely. There's a small amount the keeps the clutch working but its hard to shift in the Z now. So I'm planning on bleeding the system as I'm worried if I add fluid I might get air in the system. Did some research and found this interesting video ( .) Anyone every tired bleeding this way? Jan

Hi guys, I am currently in the process of swaping a BW T5 and a R200 into my 240z. Currently my car is running the stock L24 motor with a racing cam but i would like to replace it soon with a L28et with approx 300 whp. The car is going to be a daily driver for the most. What is the real world performance difference between the 3.70 and the 3.90 diff's and if it enough to warrant holding out for a 3.90 rather than going with the cheaper and easily accessible 3.70 diff? Also how much do most 3.90 R200 cost?

Is there anyone out there that has a mustache bar out of their car that could measure a dimension for me? I have a '73 (I think '72-76 all used the same one). I am looking for the height of the eyelet? where the bushings go through. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am rebuilding the top end of a 72 240Z engine. I have removed all the equipment off the block and am cleaning it for painting. (I noticed after cleaning the grease off that the block is a light blue color - I never knew that!) I have an E31 head rebuilt and ready to put on. The last major work I had done on the car was when the Wizard of Z's (Riverside, CA) was still in business before he retired. The Wizard did a marvelous job on the engine, it really purred! Since I didn't need to smog the car any longer because of its age, the Wizard asked if I wanted the smog tube hooked back up to the intake manifold. He said it would give me more power if I didn't, so I said no,…

Does anyone out there have a stock cam shaft they want to part with? My L24 ITS cam is in bad shape so can you help me here? You all probably know that not all "stock" cams are created equal so here are the measurements I made on my cam and I'd like to get one with no less lift than what I have. Here are the dimensions: Base circle diameter = 3.306mm/1.303" Base to lobe = 4.03mm/1.582" Therefore lift = .724mm/.279" I think it's basically a .28" lift stock cam without oil passages. I have a spare cam but it has just a little less lift so I'd really like to replicate my primary cam if possible. Just trying to stay within ITS rules and go fast too. Thanks everyone.
