Does anyone know the size of the a/c belt for a side mounted York a/c compressor? Also, does anyone have the OEM part number for this belt? (FYI, the York was a dealer installed item for the 1970 240Z.) Thanks, Keith

Ok I recently am being introduced to carbs. I have only owned fuel injected cars up to this point. I recently purchased a 74 260 with an l24 with su carbs. I found on the rear carb that the fuel line that ran from the float to the needle had a pin whole leak. So i replaced that vaccum looking line with some fuel line and well now the car has a horrible throttle response and idle. My assumption is the previous owner adjusted the carb to make it idle good without noticing the leak. Can I please find someone in the SanDiego area to help me adjust my carbs and teach me so I can do it myself next time??????

Is there any way to distinguish between stock and turbo head bolts in the absence of numbered bags? I think they are stock but am not positive, also is there any harm in torqueing them to turbo specs just to be sure? Thanks, H Houghton

Ok, I've searched and found some good yet slightly confusing information about identifying your transmission. On the one hand ZHome seems to indicate that I have the B type 4speed as shown here: http://www2.zhome.com:81/ZCMnL/tech/69-83TrannyShifterDrawing.jpg Then on the other hand this page seems to indicate that it could be either the B type 4speed or wide ratio 5speed: http://www.gracieland.org/cars/techtalk/gearing2.html Is there a better, more definitive way to determine which transmission you have since these two sources which are both referenced several times on this site seem to be inconsistent?

1972 L24 Issue My car seems to die right after I let go of the ignition key. It's like there is no spark after the ignition is not turning the starter. Battery has been charged. Yesterday I had a jump to get it started... Loaded it onto trailer When I got home I have the current issue... The car really seems to be trying to start Thanks, Jay Not Just a Z - zdisease

Hey Z Car users, I have a stock 1978 280z . I just recently got the Spark plugs, plug wires, Dizzy cap and Rotor replaced. Followed with a timing. Under acceleration the intake makes a "pop" noise. I wa told the car was running lean. Has anyone ever had this problem? If you do, how did you fix it? thanks! -bee

About to press the trigger on what look like an almost virgin P79 head. Was told that it was removed from a 5k miles engine. The head look new including the cam, no apparent machine work done to it. Price is 150$ and i am on a tight engine rebuilt budget. Is this a good deal ?

So I'm new to this world of restoration.. This is my first car.. I'm in the process of removing the intake manifold on my '76 280z and I'm a little stuck. I've removed the intake manifold bolts holding it to the head, I don't know where to go from here. I have removed everything that looks like it would be in the way but the thing won't budge.. I guess my question is how do I pull the intake manifold? My Haynes manual is in the mail.. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi all, So... I got my fuel pump all connected back up, new lines, etc., and thought I would change the differential oil while the car was jacked up. The oil was sort of brown and slightly smelly -- not a burnt smell, but another smell that is somewhat hard to describe. The magnetic drain plug was slightly "hairy" with filings stuck to it. There was the tiniest bit of debris in the bottom of the pan I collected the oil in. Some of it glittered (i.e. filings). The longest filing I found was about 3/16" long and about 1/16" wide, but most of what I saw was about 1/32" in size. When I was finished refilling the oil and cleaning up, my hands were a bit glittery too. …
