Seasons Greetings, I have a head off a L20 Fairlady that has Y70 cast into the side. I was wondering if anyone has any info regarding this head. It has small valves and the round exhaust ports with the steel liners. Can it be modified or is it only good as a boat anchor. Stay safe over the Christmas and New year break. Regards David.

I have a slight clunk when i let out the clutch...i think it may be diff bushing or u joints.. Can the u joints be replaced or do i have replace the half shaft 78 280z? Please help..

I got my 5 speed out of the 79 ZX in that local boneyard. So now I can complete the R180 4.11/5-speed conversion. I can't wait to drive the car again in the Spring. Between the tranny/diff swap, the new rear struts and the new rear sway bar, I'll be looking for punks in Mustangs to run past. :classic: Apart from changing fluid, what should I do to the tranny before installing it? Its got about 65K on it, and it was driven to where it sits. The best part, I made the finals in my fantasy football league yesterday, which guarantees my at least $330, and up to $700. Cost of the 5 speed and the 4.11 R-180 package...$350. If I win the final this week, all of this Win…

I recently bought a 74 260z with Hitachi Carbs.I did a complete tuneup ++ and then had the carbs adjusted for $$$. It seemed oK at first. Now I have a problem with the way it runs if I start it while it is still hot. It runs pretty good for 50 miles but if I stop for gas or a soda then I start it back up it will stutter and run very weak. The engine temp stays low. I have to pull the hand choke all the way back to get power under load. It does not stall out. I have been through the vapor lock theory, and it is not the problem I think. I ran new fuel lines and insulated them , the pumps are new with good pressure. When I have this problem I can drive it for miles and it …

I was told it was a 5 speed, seems to only shift as a four speed, then someone else told me it was a four speed. It has the same straight stick shift as my four speed, as far as I know five speeds have a bent shifter? I didn't buy it and i don't know the history on it.

Hi all I'm out looking after pistons for my L24, i have sourced down a supplier with very interesting prices, they have 2 kind of flat tops, the one with valve relief's and the other without. The seller say that the one without (Ry 2516) is for 70 - 72 and the one with relief's (RY 6335) is for 73. My car is a 73, still i prefere pistons without relisf's The only thing i can think could be the reason for the pistons having relief's is due to larger valves in the E88. My question is, will the one without relief's work ? motor is bone stock, except of round top SU's and header, any input is appreciated. Chris

I have driven four standard trucks and two standard cars. Im not the greatest at driving a standard yet but one of the cars( a honda) was so much easier to shift then the others. I drove a 350z last night and I did terrible!!!! Something about that clutch was an awful design! Today I got my 280z running(4speed) and it was likedriving an automatic. The shifts were flawless and it almost felt like I didnt have to worry about clutch/gas timing at all! Does this mean the clutch is going out(like someone suggested) or are some cars designed this way?
