Hi all. Since its been almost impossible to get an engine for my 240Z in the classified adds:disappoin, browsing the net I found zcarsource of Arizona and I would like to know if anyone have experience with them. I read they sell refurbished engines as long blocks. They are around 2,500 to 3,000 bucks for them so I like to know if worth to buy an engine from them. Thank You

Does anyone have a ball park idea of what a clutch replacement with parts and labor would run? I may need to replace mine in the near future and was looking for a rough guess. Thanks,

When I was searching for pics of installed ITG's, I had a hard time finding them, so not that mine are in, I wanted to post some pictures. I am still working on the carb bowl vents locations. I am not happy with them as is, but it will work tolerably for now.

HI, Wanted to check what gear I have in differential this morning. So I started to block one half shaft with a bar and attempt to turn the other side half shaft........ I did all I could but it would never turn. Not even an inch.... So I've removed the bar from the half shaft and started turning the two half shaft together 10 turns. Result on the drive shaft is 41 turns. Can I confirm I have a 4.11 gear? Since I wasn't able to block on half shaft, is this related that it could be a LSD unit? If I refer to an old invoice (early 80), it should be a 4.11 R200 with a LSD. But nothing on the differential can confirm me that. Can someone help me on this. Thanks, Joce

Hey guys, I have a 280z with a L28E I have some turbo parts from the L28ET, including the ECU. However, I don't have the harness and I can't seem to source one for a good price. Here are the parts I already have: Exhaust Manifold Intake Manifold J-Pipe AFM, Turbo ECU Stock turbo with wastegate oil lines ---- My question is, what is the most affordable and quickest way for my fuel management? and do I need the distributor or anything else? I've searched for a past few days on hybridz and I am still confused. I just want a stock setup and most likely won't be wanting more power in the future. I've read that I can use the stock NA ECU but I've also read a lot of other t…

I'm a dummy... The fill & drain plugs in the diff were frozen as well, so I had to remove it from the car to work on them. Did figure out a little trick to getting them loose. I pulled the mustache bar off and installed it on the diff to act as a reatction bar so it didn't roll around while I stood on the pipe wrench to break the plugs free. Worked like a champ. Filled it with MT-90 and re-installed with no problems. Also installed my new aluminum radiator and the engine underpan. The radiator sits a bit lower than the stock unit, so I had to install some 1/8" spacers and gently bend the pan edges where the interfred with the lower front corners of the radia…

are there any downsides to having one? I'm getting close to parting out or scrapping my white 73 (a sad day) and it has a good one on it but I'm not sure if it is something I need on my 'new' 73. Is it a benifit in non-racing applications? -Trevor www.geocities.com/z-car

I am torn. I have a 73 240Z with 48,000 miles. I have been trying to keep it original since I bought it 6 years ago. This included replacing tired old parts with new Nissan parts and undoing some other non-stock changes. (ie aftermarket, clutch-less metal engine fan was replaced with correct clutch and Nylon fan.) These are the facts: <DIR> I purchased it from the original owner. I have the original window sticker, all the records for the car, and a pretty good history of the cars life. (ie, it was stored in a NIKE bunker for 5 years near LA) It is 99.99% rust free. (It has one smaller than dime size spot on the hatch lip). The frame rails are very clean…

Just to be safe, I changed my tranny fluid. You fill a manual tranny up until it comes out of the fill hole right? 1971 4 speed manual. I know its a silly question, but it seemed like I put more in it than 1.5 liters.

Well, today I started getting into my Datsun. Taken some of the accessories out and the radiator out as they all are getting upgraded. Now, I need to take the head off to replace a gasket. The manual wasn't very clear about it so how abouts do I go about doing it? Can I leave the carberators on or do they need to come off first? Where do I discount the throttle linkage? What am I supposed to do with the timing belt? How and where does that come off? Are the head bolts under the Valve cover? Then tensioner for the drive belt, show I replace that while I am in there. I am going to be replacing the springs, rockers, ect. and upgrade the cam.
