Greetings, I've searched past posts and haven't seen an answer to this question. My overflow tank has yellowed over the years and I'd like to clean it up. Has anyone found a technique for cleaning the inside and outside of the tank? Thank you.

Received my NOS 1970 Engine FSM last week. $20 plus shipping, found on eBay. Cover is a little faded, but inside it looks like it was never opened! No finger smudges, no writing, just clean, clear, white pages. If anyone has the accompanying 1970 Body FSM that they're looking to sell, let me know.

Hey guys, new to the forum, need some help. This problem just developed last night, suddenly, and out of the blue. When I am idling the car will die. When it does this I get a spike on my tach from the 800 idle to 3k. This leads me to believe its gotta be something elictrical. I don't even know where to start. If anyone has ideas please post them. I'm not very knowledgable so try to give some instructions as to how to do things or explain what the part in question I should be checking looks like/where it is. Thanks.

hey all, just an addendum to many who ask why your Z may overheat. as stated by 'Sblake' and others. try changing your thermostat to a NISSAN one. get rid of the aftermarket one. in the pic, the NISSAN one is on the left and as you can see the water flow is greater through the larger diameter NISSAN stat. good luck.

Hi all, I am going to yank the L28 and 5 speed out of the donor car in a couple of weeks and was wondering which clutch kit I should go with. I will convert the EFI L28 over to my SU's. I will be using the 5 speed from the '83 ZX. I will also be installing a 4:11 diff into the stock R180 rear end. I am going to get the flywheel resurfaced and was looking for a good clutch kit (disc, pressure plate, pilot and throwout). Not looking to spend a fortune and don't need any HD race units. There are a million options out there and any input is appreciated! Thanks, Tim

so i decided to pull the motor in my '72 240 to 'clean her up' and paint the engine bay. while at it, i decided to ditch the oem exhaust manifold and go with MSA's 6-1 header. i currently have the engine and trans together on my bench/stand Q: can i fit the header to the block (while on bench/stand) and still be able to manuever engine, new header and trans back into the car. i ask because the 6-1 header is bigger and wider the stock manifold when i removed the engine. the oem downpipe was attached to my exhaust. thanks in advance for input to anyone who has done this )

My car tends to buck and pop when I try and start it. In the morning I pull the choke on full, turn the engine over and when it finally fires it sound like it's only running on one carb, then the other one kicks in and the RPMs jump so I bring it down with the choke and the thing flutters and dies. This happens a few times until its able to idle with the choke on. Generally, at start up it's either over rev'ing, or stumbling until it gets going well enough to keep it running high RPMs with lots of choke. Everything is in good operating condition, I just suspect something is out of adjustment, or needs upgrading. I just installed a Pertronix unit and that doesn't seem …

I just started looking into my other motor to get an idea on what kind of shape it was in to see what surprises in might be hidding for me when I rebuild it . The first thing I discovered was when I removed the oil pan I found the broken off end of a scew driver and a spring. So I figurede I better dig a little deeper . I pulled of the timming chane cover and discovered that the tensioner was destroyed, the screwdriver !. Then when I tried to slide the cam out it wouldnt come out, so I unbolted the cam towers the all slid off easily except the center one it spins but will not slide off the cam. I recently purchased a 240mm flywheel from the Z Barn. I plan to lighten to 18 lb. and install in my 71 Z with an F54 2800 block and the original Datsun 4 speed. Will everything bolt right up with the 240 Z throwout bearing and clutch fork when I install the new clutch. What brand clutch is best for this application. I should be running about 200 flywheel h.p. in the new engine. Guy
