I HAVE TRIED THE SEARCH, I HAVE LOOKED IN MY HAYNES MANUAL, AND I TRIED GOOGLE. so I don't want to hear anything about searching, or look it up. All I want and need to know is what weight oil do I use in my R200 differential? And what weight oil, or what type of oil do you put in a manual transmission? I don't know anything about differential oil weights, or manual transmission weights. Everyones help is greatly appreciated. thanks.

I been having a problem with backfiring in the engine compartment when I put a load on the engine from a stop. This occurs whether the car is cold or hot. It also occasionally happens when I accelerate a low speed. I have changed the plugs, wires and distributor cap. I've also run injector cleaner through the motor and checked to see if all injectors are working. I'm stumped can anyone help me? 1978 280z 2+2

I used plastigage to check the clearance for the main bearings and I found the specs in the How to Rebuild Nissan/Datsun engine book, but when I went looking for the specs for the clearance for the bottom piston area here, I couldn't find it. Anyone know what it is? Also need the torque for the nuts too.

Can someone tell me which spark plug and distributor wire I should use for my 1975 280Z.? I am planning on getting them from NAPA. Also, which brand distributor cap should I use? Any feedback will be appreciated. Thanks.

Hello again, I have a 1975 280Z with A/C. It has a five speed tranny and L28 engine which I think is original to the car. My question is, what type of radiator should my car have. ? Should it have a single, double, or single core? Can I swap a radiator from a 260 or 240? I think the radiator in my car is from a 280/240 with an Automatic tranny because it has the pipings at the bottom for the tranny. How can I tell if mine is a single or double core? I am not sure if it will be more cost effective to have the existing radiator re cored or just buy another. As always, I look forward to your helpful comments. Thanks,

I could have sworn that I have seen a Limited-Slip for the 240z or the Z series just in general. So, is there a limited-slip differential for my Z? Or did I read it wrong and the R180 and R200 are already limited-slip differentials? Or there aren't any at all?

In the early 80's I began the restoration of my first car, an early 1974 Datsun 260Z. Due to poor work by a restoration shop after the car was stolen, the project was put on hold for a few decades. Got an '80 5-speed over a year ago when the 5-speed from a '78 gave up the ghost. I had problems getting it to go in to second and I'm curious if there are any known reliability problems with the 5-speeds out of the 80 model year. I checked he reservoir and it's full. I'm going to check the gear shift to see if it needs to be tightened etc. Last resort short of the transmission is the clutch slave cylinder...I'd really hate to eat another transmission after only about a year.

Hi Guys its time for a clutch change, i put in a 5 speed from a 78 in it last summer and its slipping when i get on it, my 72 Z has original Racer brown cam mod, big exhaust no header, and the 5 speed. Its lowered, 36k original miles run hard when i drive it. Any advise on a stronger one and source for it will be appreciated.
