About to pull what little hair I have out! Thinking I was having alternator trouble I pulled the positive battery cable off and she died...and...has not started since??? I have spark at the plugs and fuel into the cold start valve so I'm assuming fuel to the injectors also. After sitting for a bit, she will "fire" for about 2-3 seconds then nothing. Any help or Ideas on what to do next will be greatly appreciated... Chris

I was wondering if anyone has had this problem and what to do. My car runs great except when I m in 3rd or 4th and get on it I have a miss or a hesitation. Its only when the rpms get up around 5000-5500. I think it might need the carbs tuned or perhaps a distributer. Where should I start to look? Thanks for the help. Chris

If so, can you email it to me? After it was removed from this site, I emailed Carl and requested a copy of his Pertronix install. He sent it, and I saved it on a hard drive that somehow was corrupted last week, just about the time I received my Pertronix coil and ignitor. So, if anyone has a copy they can email me, PM me and I'll provide an email address for you. Thanks, Gary S.

I am on my second JY R180 differential. Are there any shops in the Sacramento area that can rebuild a R180? Also, are there any shops in Sacramento that can rebuild a L24 engine? I can take the engine to Rebello, but would prefer to find an engine builder in Sacramento if possible. Thanks Miles

I'm getting ready to put my 5sp in and I was wondering if I should go wth a roller pilot bearing instead of a normal oillite bearing. I do Autocross the car and plan on doing some track days and maybe time trails. Any thoughts? Thanks Eric

Ive searched these blogs high and low for 0-60 times, and evry time i find a little something, someone always changes the subject and no one posts what they got. So, im asking evryone that reads this to get out your stop watch and see what you got, and come here and simply state what time your 0-60 is and what modifications you did to get that time ( even if your stocker posts it) . Lets see who the better driver is!

I've posted this question before but had to many other things going on to check anything. Some of the responses were that the height of the piston was a positive deck of .016" to .020".I haven't put a micrometer on it to get an accurate measurement but I used a feeler gauge(definitely not the greatest idea)and came up with a height of about .013".I put stock head gasket(new)on today to find out that valves are hitting pistons.Engine specs are stock crank, stock rods,87mm flat top pistons, stock head,.005" shave off deck height

I bought a parts car a few years back intending to use the 5 speed and diff out of it. Now that I finally am getting around to the swap, I dont know the years of the tranny and diff or the gearing of the diff. How can I find this out? Is there a number somewhere on the parts I can look at?

I still have nightmares about the time I tried to over-tighten the oil drain plug when my dad was showing me how to do it on my first car. Apparently, the previous owner of my 73 did not have a similar experience. The bolt is cranked on pretty good. I think the car has sat for a few years too. So, it may be rusted a bit too. I have never had this happen on any car that I have owned (for an oil plug!). So, it is somewhat new territory. Does anyone have any advice how to loosen the plug? I bought a replacement plug, (naively) planning to replace a slightly rusty plug. So, I don't care how it gets off, as long as it gets off. I didn't try a cheater bar yet. So, that'…

Hi all. I was wondering after the shop told me the E88 cylinder head was in very bad shape:sick: if I can get a rebuilt one. But not sure if theres a better head that I can install (for better compression). Let me know what do you think please. Thank You.
