Hello z owner and drivers, I have problem w/ my 1976 5 speed fuel injected z. Well I have a rough running problem, I thought that this problem would be fix by changing the distributor cap, rotor, plug wires, and plugs which I set the gapping of each plug at .35. Ive also tried by changing the AFM and distributor, This did not work. seems like I've tried everything that should fix this problem. What cause this problem in the first place is that I drove 30miles at 85-90mph on the freeway when I got off it was running rough. CAN ANYBODY HELP ME HELP!! :tapem…

I have a 1973 240Z with a vin of HLS30-163077. It has a five speed transmission in it, but I am not sure which type it is, an original five-speed or a later version. I found a serial number stamped on the top of the bell housing, 7730292. Can the type of transmission in the car be identified by this, or do I have to pull it from the car to find out? I checked my microfiche CD and can’t find this number anywhere. Are than any other numbers stamped on the transmission that can be used for identification? If it helps, the shift lever is the bent type. Jason

I just recently asked if anyone had any information on a N47 intake manifold that had the heat shield cast as part of the manidfold. Upon further inspection of it today I was able to see that was not a heat shield but a webbing between the manifold inlets. At this point I'm guessing this is a turbo intake manifold. Am I guessing right?

I have been debugging my EFI, and everything else attached to the intake manifold of my 1983 280ZX. But I have run into a problem. I am looking for a chart that shows the vacuum line routing for a 1983 280ZX. I downloaded the EFI Bible from the boys up in Canada at Atlanticz Club, I downloaded the microfiche service manual for the 1982 280ZX, and I have the Haynes manual for the 1979-1983 Z. None of them, NONE, NOT ONE, shows the vacuum line routing for the 1983 car. I notices that in the Haynes manual there are significant differences between the 1980, 1981 and 1982 cars in how the route or control the vacuum. These differences seem to primarily include different TVV's, …

Is there a nicer T handle for the stock auto box? The 'thing" on the std 240z stink... I am stuck with the box for one year befor I can swap my 5 in it... I am not against spending a few $$$ in a better looking lever!

Ever since I replaced my head gasket last winter, my car has needed premium gas in order not to knock. With the recent gas prices I tried to put in midgrade (89) and the car did not like it one bit. It would hesitate and accelerate really rough and the knock was still there. Before I did the head gasket I was able to run regular 87 octane without issues, and now I have to run 91 or the car runs like crap. Could this be as simple as adjusting the timing? I did have to reset the timing when did the head gasket because I let the tensioner spring, but I made sure all the marks on the cam, crankshaft, and chain were lined up and used a light to set it. Would fooling arou…

HMMMM, Looking for info... I will probably be building an engine before I get a Z do to the fact that I have pretty much decided to go with a 2.8. I MUST have a 240... but do to the power i want I feel it will be better to go with the L28. Now falling back on my shadetree small block Chevy days my thought process is... no replacement for displacement, and make her squeeze tight (10.5:1) slight overbore on the block ~.030, Shave the head a bit ~.030ish, Flat top pistons. I used that handy dandy lil' program from our Aussie friends (damn that's cool) and what I gather the L28 came with the N47 head, dished pistons, and about 8.3:1. So I start adjusting and get L28 bloc…
