i just recently replaced my 280zx distributor with the e12-80 module for a remanufactured unit. I still have my e12-80 but im running the new distributor with the module it came with. Now, ever since i reinstalled the new dizzy, i have been having problems similar to a revlimiter. It wont rev past 4.5-5K... i have already replaced the distributor cap, rotor, wires, and plugs and am still geting the same results. Static timing is at 18 degrees and 35 degrees total timing. My question is, is the new module on my new dizzy a remanufactured e12-80? Would something like this cause my sputter on top end?

Higuys, On my 78 280Z, I can hear what sounds like a small vacuum leak or hiss from the area around or under the throttle body, but I am having trouble pinpointing it. The hissing could be coming from the BCDD area under the throttlebody but I prefer not to take the whole thing apart unless it's necessary, and thought that someone has had a similar experience with a solution. AFAIK, there aren't any vacuum taps under there. thx

Okay, I'm reassembling things after replacing the bushings on a 1975 280z. This piece fastens to the differential crossmember. It's made of 1/2" steel plates and weighs about 10 lbs. What's its purpose? Does it have a name? Is it necessary? not to scale:

I am upgrading my tranny and diff to a 5 speed and R200. Is it worth trying to sell the 4 speed and R180? Is there much market for them? The R180 is the original, I believe, for my early Z but the 4 speed tranny is a replacement. Any thoughts? Thanks!

So I had my 71 240 out for a little drive today. I have an early 5 speed. It makes an awful grinding sound while decelerating unless I disengage the clutch. I check the oil, and it was a little low, but not terrible. I'm planing on changing it out for some synthetic. Any thoughts as to what could be causing this sound. Thanks,

hi folks! I just finished a hard time changing the head gasket + intake-exhaust gasket.. and in the same time an experiment that I thaught of for a long time.. I took my car to my friend to replace my old ugly copper radiator which was leaking from eveywhere! (that I discovered when I saw it from the hidden side from the front)! I put into it an aluminum radiator from a BMW 325i 1995, and guess what, this is a two row radiator and fits really good, we needed to use a plate with about 3 inches to attach the bushing mount, the upper part is held with original BMW clamps of the radiator:) we needed to modify an L shape pipe with a filling cap, guess what, it is even in a bet…

I'm having to remove my intake and exhaust manifolds. Long story that I won't bore you with. Since I have the intake off, what is the best method of cleaning it and protecting it so that it will be easy to maintain in a clean condition? I have a few ideas, but I wanted the advice of all you experts out there. '71 240Z Thanks

Hello All! I am in need of a distributor support - the part that bolts to the front cover and the distributor inserts into it. Attached is a photo. It is the bottom part, which has a bolt with a washer showing. I have one possibility locally, but wanted to check here too.

Hi there everyone Has anybody a picture showing the position of the Fuel evaporater Canister In the engine bay? I find it will be a tight fit below the fuel filter to the right of the "A/C sight glass thing", and above the lower rad hose ; but it seems to me that is the only place available. Thanks guys Regards Bloxman
