   After short running time, the carbon deposits on the plugs short out. I installed the hottest plugs I could find (NKG4's) and advanced the timing a little. Is there any way to adjust air-fuel mixture? Is there a problem with advancing the timing too far, like 5 degrees past recommended of 10 degrees? I have a '77 280z fuel injected; compression is 140psi. Thanks for any help. Ron

   i have some back lash (clunking) in the rear of my 240z i found that the right hand flange yoke or out put shaft what ever you call it has a lot of side, up and down play. Would this be the bearing if so would i have to remove the diff center to replace. My other option is i have a r180 from a 1976 260z 2+2 automatic in good condition would it just be easyer to put this whole diff in insted ?

   Im in need of a new transmission. i have the original tranny and it still works but vibrates on second gear. I fell like im not getting the full Z experience with this worn out tranny. and i have been searching on the procedure but cant seem to find it. Im getting the transmission from a japan parts place in South San Francisco, and want to know if theres any 280z out there who have already done this in the past, which im sure they have but cant seem to find them in the forums. I just need some quick tips on the procedure or a link, and want my z to be running like new again thanks.

    I am looking for suggestions, advise and experiance on my next project. I have an L28 motor with flat top pistons balanced lower end and lightened flywheel. I don't kwow how much the flywheel was lightened but I don't think it was very much. I also have a mild Schyder cam to go with it. The motor is out of my 75 with fuel injection. The changes I want to make are ideas I have from reading the Geocities.com/zgarage web site. To start with I want to put one of my P90 heads on it. The P90 mod section talks about shaving .080 off the head which raise the compression to 10:1. Is this to much for the 91 octane sold at the pump. I believe it said that just putting a P90 on flat …

    Please I like to know if the 20W-50 is a good choice for the 240z engine. Shell HELIX Super 20W-50 to be exact. If there´s another better oil let me know please (viscosity and lubrication).

    how can i make my 78 280z auto, run a little quicker with out engine swap or turbo, turbo will come but not right know. everything is pretty much except for a little intake and a DYNOMAX exhaust system. they came with the car. it run real great and has less 100,000 miles on it, all for 500$. I have money save for performance parts but i dont know were to start. need help !

    As I was going through the parts I've collected over the past couple of years I found two N42 intake manifolds. One has a bolt on heat shield and on the other the heat shield is cast as part of the intakefold. What do I have?
