Hey everybody! I'm installing a speedometer cable tomorrow and not sure what the process is. (To be honest I'm not sure if there is no speedometer cable at all, or if it's just broken) Has anyone had experience installing one of these and if so, do you have any pointers? Thanks for your help.

After reading through the archives on cam oiling I thought i would do my own research on this subject. I wanted to prime my engine with oil before starting so I thought it would be cool if i could see this in action plus verify my spray bar is working correctly. When i rebuilt my engine I had the spray bar cleaned with everything else, but I have been skeptical of those little hole getting clean. The cam is an internally oiled, but I was going to use the spray bar also.This was another reason to look at things a little closer. Trying to locate some 20 or 30 over pistons. My mechanic says MSA only has two nissan pistons 20 over, anybody know where to get some more? Are factory pistons the way to go or is there a better piston? Or something equally as good. He tells me my cylinders are egged shapped. I gotta trust him, but how a motor with only 25k miles can cause cylinder walls to deform is beyond me. Thanks guys

I have a new water elbow to install on the rear pass. side of my motor. I can only hand tighten it to about 3 o'clock. Now, I know that it needs to be tightened further counter-lockwise to 10 o'clock. That'll be nearly a half turn of resistance. Is that right? I don't want to mess up the threads or anything.

Well in my 240z I was sorta supprised to see a choke. I totally wasnt expecting to see that. Though I have noticed, that there should be a leaver right next to it on the right. There is a slot for one, but no handle is there. I am wondering what is supposed to go there, and is it a big deal if it is or isnt there? Also the air/smog pump, can I just take that out completly and the few things that are attached to it? I am thinking a decimal point of better fuel economy, and maybe some more power, but I am not sure if it will hurt the motor or not and it seems to be a vital vaccum source too though I am not too sure about that one. Just that the smog pump was connected…

Well I have an E31 block and an E67 intake manifold. I always see people saying E block this and E that, so I am wondering if I got a good combo here or no. Mostly for possible future engine modifications mostly interested in the diesel crank.

Found this on ebay this am. I have a 5 speed tranny for my 71 and have been looking for a rear so I can install it. Hey guys, I put my new head on, the rockers and then the cam, torqued it all down correctly and now when I put the timing chain over the camsahft sprocket it will not reach the dowel joint (comes up about 6mm short) For some reason my TDC mark actually shows TDC at cyl 6, while #1 is at the top of the exhaust stroke. The car was running perfectly before it blew a head gasket, I wedged the timing chain, marked the sprocket position in relation to the chain. I cannot think of anything that would have caused this other than dropping a link over the crank sprocket, but I wedged everything.............. HELP, I dont know what esle to try before I pull the timing cover off.

I thought the 350z's LSD was a R230, is it not?? I found a webpage that listed it as a R200!? Am I correct in the R230?
