I'm doing a triple carb set up and need to fab a heat shield for them. Does anyone have a pic of an unmounted heat shield tray type so I can see how it attaches. Thanks:alien:

Not finding exact answers thru search or manuals, different set ups and stuff. So thought Id just drop a picture and try to get a quick answer from those in the know. So I have my tube vent(1), pcv(2), and side vent(3) to deal with. As can tell I took off the emissions and smog pump. Now here is the back of my air box. Basically I have the 2 ports on the air box tied up with the valve cover breather and the crankcase breather. Now my initial plan was to just route the side vent and center vent on the balance tube together to eliminate them without actually plugging. But the pcv valve vent is troubling me, not sure if its even needed without all the gadgets and …

Hi guys, the time has come to put my new head onto my L28 (N42 Head/N42 Block) however I ordered a gasket from a reputable dealer and this one came. There seem to be a large number of holes (I believe they are all from the coolant galleries in the head (and the block) that are not in the gasket. I was assured that this was the right one. Can I install this one regardless or would that be the completely wrong way to go about it? Help me guys, I have that itch............................:cross-eye

I've just bought a '73 240Z, with auto transmission, and have noticed tht my oil pressure seems low. The gauge has a top register of 90psi and it normally hovers around 45 or so when driving around town. At idle, it drops frightenly low - maybe in the 10-30 range. Is this a concern, or normal running pressures?

I apologize if this is a stupid question, but it’s got me stumped. I need to change the alternator belt, but do not know how to get to it. Obviously, I need to remove the power steering/oil pump belt (#1 in the photo), the A/C compressor belt (#2), and finally the alternator belt (#3). I figured I would go ahead and replace all three at the same time, unfortunately, the parts store was out of the A/C belt. Anyway, I was thinking of removing the fan blade, loosening the idlers, and sliding the alternator in. However, I can’t see how to remove the fan blade. I can feel bolts on the front of the blade, and see others behind it, but I don’t want to inadvertently di…

L28 86mm These are the slightly domed ones. It turns out I need to have my block rebored as it is now slightly out of limits after rehoning. Unfortunately, they don't have these in oversize anymore. They are currently mounted on my rods, so I can't put them for sale yet, but they are new and have new rings also. __________________

I'm looking for some info that I've heard about but can't confirm concerning creating a stroker engine for the L24 by putting in an L20 (from Japan) crank. I've heard about this from a couple of people but couldn't determine all that went into creating one. I'm very interested if anyone can give me the recipe for this. Thankz

Lesson learned: I should have checked here first. My head is hung low and my tail is between my legs. I picked up a really nice E88 head the other day. I was checking the torque for the cam towers. I couldn't find specs in the FSM, so I checked Tom Monroe book "How to Rebuild..." and found the torque listed at 33 ft-lb. Need I say more? Well the first one snapped the bolt; I guess I am fortunate that it didn't strip the head. Of course, now a search here tells me that 15 ft-lbs would have been much more proper. The other bolts were much tighter than 15 ft-lb, too, so I backed them off and retorqued to 15 ft-lb. Like I said - should have checked here first - I kn…

Well, I've made the decision to part with the L24 motor from my 240Z. This motor was originally pulled from the car around 60k miles by previous owner (moving to larger engine). I bought the engine from him when I bought the car. Has been removed again for larger engine swap. Engine has less than 5k miles on new rings, new seals, and new gaskets. Also pulled 139 hp at the wheels on a dyno. (I will locate the chart soon). Does not include the following: -Intake manifold or carbs -exhaust manifold -alternator -valve cover shown in picture (another one is included) -thermostat housing -fuel rail Also, the water pump was brand new when this motor was put in the car…
