I have recently determined that I am not going to be able to afford a rebuild on my engine. I definatly could use a fresh engine. I purchased my current engine a while ago for dirt cheap and it is leaking oil from everywhere. I was hoping that someone here might have a good engine laying around that they would like to get rid of. I would like something that is reliable <50k miles on rebuild. It can be a shortblock or a longblock. I would love to be able to toss in a 5-speed while I am at it since most of my driving is on the freeway. I've been solving one minor issue after another over the past year with great success, but this one is the cheapest so far. I've been showing low oil pressure since I got the car last fall, read all the relevant posts and came to the conclusion that the sensor (sender) was tits up, so following the printed word - I got a pressure guage and tied it directly to the engine - no pressure . While I was trying to sort out the problem with the guage I was tapping the old sensor on a rag, some gunk came out (not much), so I decided to soak it in some kerosine for a minute and a little more came out. I have just gotten my car running and can't get my timing in range with the light. I'm against the bolts on distributor adjustment and still 3/4 of a inch from 0. Am I one tooth off on shaft on oil pump. I,m running a 82 ZX motor with P-79 head with exhaust baffles cut out and smoothed, Schneider cam, headers and Weber DGVs. I changed it over to electronic ignition out of a 80ZX with a Crane coil. Anybody have any answers?

I have a early 69-70 240z, I bought what appear to be a good bushinf kit for the shifter that had a little extra play in it. When I took it apart cleaned and inspected, found theirs no way theses parts could be right, My ? is did they come with a diffrent transmission in the very Early models or am I just stupid

I have the oportunity to buy a 3:9 from a ZX and the 4:11 from a 200sxt very cheap...but I need to know which is my better option for a daily ride and occasionally hard driven car???? as well as the effects in the car, such as fuel consumption, launching power, top speed and rpm???? it is good idea to add a maxima head (n47) to this package? thanks for the suggestions!!!

Think I'll start this again with a better title..... I need to pull the 4 speed transmission in my '77 to replace the throwout bearing. This will be the first time I've removed a transmission.....I have the FSM, but are there's always things it doesn't cover in much detail. Any helpful hints you guys can pass along? Thanks, Bob

I just bought a set of 40 over forged pistons with valve reliefs and pop ups the whole caboom. The seller said they have never been used and they also had piston rings included. I bought them for $500.00, I got them today. Also I gave him a freindly reminder how to ship them so they wouldn't get damaged from shipping. Ok I open the box... there piled over each other hardly worth $34.00 dollars for shipping, me and my brother start opening the thin layer of bubble wrap on each piston, one wasnt even covered in anything. Am ready to install a new oil pump in my 280Z but my manual does not go into detail but does talk about the dist. and pos #1 TDC but nothing on where the pump is? is the pump under in the oil pan? thx Raven
