Does anyone know a place where I can get Part #16578N4201 - Air Intake Rubber Boot with Nipple Part #25420N4310 - Fusible Link Cover (I need two of these). The dealership doesn't want to order the intake boot for me because they say that even though they use the right number, they get a boot without the nipple fitting for the return gas. Supposedly, it's a J-Code item which I guess means that dealership is stuck with it and can't return it to the source. The dealership I called has three air intake boots, all without the nipple for the return line and are stuck with them. Another dealership didn't want to order because of the same reasoning - can't return if the part isn'…

has anyone tried the oil pressure sending unit that kragen sells? They look the exact same as the one that's on there right now, so I would imagine they should work. I'd rather buy it for $20 from my local kragen than buy it from MSA or BDA and wait a week to recieve it.

A friend of mine and myself are, just for the experience and fun of it, going to turbocharge his 84 Datsun Maxima (Has the inline 6, same as the 240z). We're working on a VERY tight budget, so no fancy fuel management systems are possible. What I'd like to know if is what could we do / use to get more fuel into the engine with the turbo and stuff? Any suggestions or advice? THanks, -Chris

I have been looking for a kit to rebuild my engine and have had very bad luck. I found 1 place that is supposed to have a complete kit from cam to pistons. I was told they had to look into this kit due to some parts are hard to come by now. I have a 1976 L28 that is going 20 over needs new cam. I really want flat top pistons (not going turbo) to go with the N47 head that I have. I need a new cam to run well with the fuel injection that I have. I am looking for a good place to buy this stuff. I have checked MSA and VB along with the local shops NAPA, AutoZone ect. I have gone to my dealer and looked into it but cost is crazy for these Items. If any body has knowledge of …

Ok with all the cam grinders out there, who do you choose? Obviously I'd be inclinded to go with what Rebello Racing in the US use, however they are all custom ground cams. I don't suppose anyone knows what kind of cam's they use or who grinds them? I've had a look around at various vendors and they all seem to have very similar profiles. I'm wondering if the cam grinders in the US are using the same spec cams as those in Japan such as Kameari and the like. I myself have bought a schneider cam kit but want to get some opinions on the best cam grinders and the most successful high HP L-series engines and what they are all using? It just seems to me that alot of these c…

Hey guys, I've already just replaced the oil pressure sending unit 3 months ago, but the oil pressure usually reads around 40-60 when the car first starts, then as it warms up it goes back down to about 0-10, but I looked down today while driving and it was still there... The sending unit is new, is there anything else could be wrong? Car has been sitting for a couple years, I bought it from the guy in Nov and have been doing suspension and SU swap. What else affects the whole system? I know the oil pump would affect it.... but are there relays and/or fuses, or wires to check out?

Hey guys, I purchased a couple Z's a few weeks ago, and plan to attempt to get them running over the holiday weekend. Does anyone have any suggestions on things I should do before I attempt to start them. One hasn't been started in about a year or so. The other hasn’t been registered for 15 years, but not sure when it was last run, hopefully not 15 years ago, but could be. If it's been that long should I even try to start it? Here is what I was thinking I will probably do, in about this order: Get some fresh gas in it. Verify it has needed fluids, oil, coolant. Pull the plugs and check for major problems Pour a little oil in each cylinder Try to turn the motor ove…

I have a squeeking, chirping sound comming out from my Mukuni's. It sounds like a belt rubbing but I took the belt off and the sound is still there. I pulled the valve cover and checked everything out and all is good. The sound at 1200 rpm happens about 200 times a minute (I am good with meters, musician and all) and increases as the rpms increase. It does not happen when it is cold only when warm. The sound seems to be comming from the trumpets on the carbs. I have looked at everything I can think of that would make the sound and I am left with the carbs. My racing partner sais he has heard the same sound from carbs like mine before. He seams to think the air rushing in …

I replaced a faulty pickup coil yesterday on my 1978 280z. I did so without removing the distributor since it seemed like a simple remove and replace job. But after I started it up, it sputtered and died. I was able to keep the enigne running long enough to attach my timing light and get a reading but the timing marks were no where to be found. Turning the distributor as much as possible didn't fix the problem either. Before I replaced the pickup coil, it was nicely tuned at 10 degrees. Nothing else changed. I also adjusted the air gap within spec - between .2mm and .4mm. Did I miss a step? Should I remove the distributor and start over? Any help would be appreciated. Th…
