Well I have narrowed down my possible choices of the head to this three for various reasons. Could anyone give me a clear answer as to which one flows best stock and which one is easy to improve (= minimum financial investments:) )? My engine is to stay NA and FI. I am aiming to have compression of low/mid 10s (btw can I use 100 octane fuel - the highest octane fuel available from pumps here in Australia as far as I know?). Also I am using an L28 block with flat top pistons and read somewhere that an E series heads will give me the required compression without any modifications - can anyone confirm this?

Theres a clutch kit on E-bay from MADDOG RACING, clutch parts are listed as 'PIONEER'. I have a '72 240z and I know I'm going to replace the clutch before it all goes back together. I really just want a 'stock' clutch, and I've seen some as high as $250.00 (this one is $99.00). Does anyone have an opinion on the make/quality of this kit? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7963256531&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1 Thanks guys, Zak

I finally solved my problem of a high idle when coasting by replacing the auxillary air regulator. However, now a new problem has arisen. When we crank the car it now emits black smoke and spits and sputters when running. This problem didn't exist before. It's running rich and I just replaced the plugs today but the problem is still there. Any ideas?

OK, so I got the 280Z back on the road today! Yeah! However... Apparently there was a lot of condensation in the exhaust system over the winter. As the car warmed up, it was blowing some nice moisture clouds out of the system, which allowed me to see...2 rust holes in the muffler. Rats. So, I figure on replacing from the premuffler back, or possibly everything from the manifold back. Depends on what I find. There are quite a few threads on exhaust, and I've read quite a few of them. Seems that there are lots of scattered opinions and deisgns. It is highly unlikely that I will modify the engine anytime soon to put out much more than stock power. Probably in th…

Is it normal for oil to drip or weep from the oil pressure sender hole? The threads seem fine enough to keep the oil in, but mine has some that made it to the driveway. :devious: Can you use some kind of goop to seal the threads, or teflon tape, or what? I was also thinking of changing out the oil filter gasket too... thx

First of all my brother and I were stocking up my Z on the needies antifreeze, oil, etc. So I pop open the oil pan and I am not suprised the oil is pure black. So as I am laying on the ground with the jug under the oil pan chunks of mud start plopping out, not a huge amount but, enough to make me worried. What do you think is wrong/ what will I have to do to clean everything up?:stupid: :stupid:

What is a good address (webshop) for buying a smog pump v-belt for my late '74 260Z without AC? They are not available here in the Netherlands. Thanks.

The differential in my 280Z is busted. The sound I thought was U joints ended up being a metallic knocking and banging from the diff. I decided to go with the R200 because I enjoy fast acceleration and never really drive highway in the car. I was able to locate an R200 near me, but the guy is asking $200 for it. Seems awfully over priced. I was also able to find an R180 for $85. I really am pretty short on cash right now, but I would also like to take every chance I get on making my repairs an upgrade. My question is, is the 3.90 gear ratio going to improve my accleration enough to make an impact on, say, my 1/4 mile time to make it worth it? The last thing I want…

My new Felpro head gasket came in today. When I placed it onto the block, a lot of the oil and coolant passages get blocked off. I have another one for the E88 head and it does not close as many holes as the turbo one does. Is the turbo gasket safe to use with all those passages closed off or should I use the E88 one? I'm confused. The package said it was for my engine? Thanks
