Wondering if anybody has any ideas about my issue below...then I'll list what I've replaced. When driving down the road, the gears shift pretty smoothly from gear to gear. I'm really happy with my 5 speed tranny conversion. I opted for a 77-78 5 speed, so my 1 through 4 gears were essentially the same...I know, I know...they are not exact, but I liked that they are very similiar. Please don't say get a ZX 5 speed...I'm not going to do this, I intentionally got the 77 5 speed on purpose. To me, it feels strong, I can spin the tires if I dump the clutch, so it is engaging correctly I believe... Problem: When I am going 5 mph or under, or I am sitting still, gears are har…

It is a hightly modified N42 head with oversized valves and a heavily modified valve train, high lift long durration cam and tripple 50mm Mikuni's.... Can I get the background on Kakimoto from a few of you in the know. PS I am looking for the Kakimoto Valve cover to go with it too if anyone has a lead on one of them too let me know via PM. Thanks,

Anyone know where i can get an L28ET - a factory turbo'd L28? A friend has a 280zx with an L28E, they would really like to turbo it but dont wanna go through the hassle's and expense of building and assembling components from scratch, basically after a good running L28ET, Is this possible in Australia?

ive got a 72 datsun fairlady z with the original 2.0l inline 6. However i cannot find pistons/rings/bearings for this thing for my life. Can I use l24 pistons and rings in this motor? or will they not work with the rods? what about bearings? Also I wanna rebuild both carbs however I have gotten three kits and none of them seem to match the carbs i have. This car has been in the family since day 1 from japan, so i know all this stuff is original. Thanks guys John

Alright I have triple webers with no mechanical and an aftermarket electric fuel pump. This is in a 260Z. Do I, in fact, need the stock electric pump? I seem to be getting enough fuel pressure. I do have a fuel pressure regulator. Thanks to all who answer.......... Bobby_Lee

Question.... I was looking at the MSA short throw shifter Kit.... Not only was I hoping to shorten the throw, but also I wanted to shorten the shifter length above the center console by about an inch. The MAS kit only shortens the throw, and the length remains the same... Does anyone know if it's possible, and how to go about shorten the length of the shifter?? Thanks

Hello to all, I have been running a N42 L28 w/ N42 head and potentially an L24 Head Gasket, but the Head gasket isnt really the issue. This head/block combo has been leaking coolant on the outside of the block. Blown head gasket one would assume. So I replaced it, a year or more ago... same problem. I had the head checked for flatness however not the block. But now, I notice the exact area where it is leaking from. It appears as though on my N42 head there are pathways for coolant to flow into the block, and on the block the reciprocating end of that pathway does not exist! I never noticed this before, but as you'll see from these ugly photos, it's quite clear where the…
