There is a plug on the drivers side of the engine. By the #6 cylinder, about 1/2 the distance between the top and bottom. Does anyone know what it's for?

Latest problem is that my headers sit too close to the underneath of my carbs & manifold - so the fuel tends to "boil" a bit and performance drops off. Anyone know where I can get my hands on some competition headers for a Z? The ones that drop straight down off the side of the engine, rather than extending out under the carbs? The more clearance I can get between my exhaust and the carbs/manifold, the better! Thanks!

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could give me some information on installing a Holley 4bbl carb onto my L24. It has the intake already, but I am clueless about how to make the throttle work. Good job on the website, I love it. Thanks, craigcully

Got a '71 L20 engine in the FairladyZ. The local Z mechanic, very highly thought of by the local Z car owners, when I asked him "valve adjust hot?" he said "nope, not necessary. Always do them cold." Okay. What is the pro and con of adjusting them hot vs cold? Would the result be the same if I had him do them as he will be adjusting them cold or should I just look for someone else? I can guarantee if I try it they will be screwed up ... !!

I know it's a bda idea to use coolant/windshield washer hose for fuel, but what about the reverse? I am replacing the hoses on my 73 and the hose between the thermostat housing and the balance tube of the intake manifold is no longer available. It looks like I should be able to just use some 5/16" fuel line for the short distance.

ok I went with all of your suggestions and got the turbo exhaust from msa , hhm does anyone have a pic of it installed on their car so I can make sure to get on correctly , I know you are saying it only goes on one way but I am sure I can find another way <especially the wrong one> also does the tip have to be welded on at a muffler shop? and is recommend having a muffler shop tack it after I get it bolted in? any thoughts would be great thanks

From what I can tell, this is an age-old problem for Z cars due to the aerodynamics at the rear end... MY CAR STINKS! I have the smell of fuel and/or exhaust fumes, and it's nauseating  I've heard different things about how to fix the problem: 1. longer exhaust tip; 2. seal up all the little holes in the rear floor; 3. check the fuel filler hose that runs to the tank; 4. keep the windows closed and the fan on full. Well that sounds like a lot of work! :stupid: (except for option 4) Can anybody honestly report that they've done any of the above and completely eliminated (or at least noticeably lessened) the smells? Or perhaps you'd like to have a crack at or…

Hi, Hope someone has the answer, I just finished having L 28 block redone. Aftermarket pistons installed but they stick out twenty thou. I have a fully enhanced E31 head all the jewellery. The head has had minor milling twice. According to the machinist the head width is 4.235. Will this work or do I have to flycut the pistons. Thanks, Brain itch

Will an Oldsmobile 350 fit? CAn I go bigger? You know, bigger is better. I thought of an RB, then to a 2JZ, but I think for my budget, I'd have to go with a 350 cid. Any thoughts?:tapemouth
