So, in attempting to avoid paying the usurous rate Nissan are asking for a bottom radiator hose for a 240Z (AUD$88!), can anyone tell me if a 260 hose will fit? As these cars are more common in Aus I'm hoping that an aftermarket dealer will be able to help.

Ok so I thought I should ask you guys what I could do to improve my engine set up. I have recently aquired a engine head (E88 Casting). It's basically got the guts of a N42 valves, had a fair amount spent on porting, 76 degree camshaft profile. It will sit on a f54 block most likely dished pistons will check when i put her back together. roughly 10:1 compression. I dunno how to check really I get 180psi across all of cylinders with the current e88 f54 combo on the car. Anyway to my point I'm told it's got roughly 120rwkw. Now that's fine and dandy but I reakon I want more power. I was thinking 3 way valve job, maybe match the intake manifold to the head. Etc.. but what…

I am takingthe heater and A/C out of my car. I hat a little incident with the heater hose today trying to take the heater module out from under the dash, let me just say I felt like It was open heart surgeury on my z... Anyway I got all the coolant drained I want to plug the heater lines fromt eh block and the lower waterneck. I was thinking of just turning the 90* elbow at the back of the block (closest to window) towards the front of the block and then connect it to the other tube coming off the lower waterneck. I dont know if this is feasible but It seemed like it would work to me. Seems like the same system just a 20' line instead of the whole heater system. I …

While searching for a front oil seal for the crank, I noticed there is one brand called Redi-Sleeve that is two or three times as expensive as other brands. Does anyone know why? Is there something special about this brand other than price? Thanks, Victor.

I am new to the forum. After reading many articles I am really confused. What I would like to do is put a 280zx turbo engine into a 280Z. I Know the V8 argument. I would loke to know what the best block is(year & model)? Same for the head. I want to build a fast street and track car. I have work on turbo cars before. Want to put bigger turbo on so need best flowing head for application. Does anyone make a good turbo cam for these engines or is stock best. How about crank, rods, pistons. Do they need replaced? Is there a book on the market that explains all of this? Can anyone recommend a shop that would have this information?

apart from the fact that this is the nicest engine bay i have ever seen for a z, can someone provide any hints as to its set up? Obviously the bay is very clean i.e. battery re-located etc. but any help as to additional components that can be seen in this bay would be great. Am planning a 240 showcar ... so this is definetley a bench mark. Cheers

Well here is the dilemma.....I live in Lovely California and the smog nazis will scrutinize my 76 280z until 2005 (rolling 29 year old vehicles become exempt) So.....should i stick with the planned mild rebuild and buildup? or should I get that zx turbo engine and T5 5 speed swap and go nuts and build up a 300+ hp turbo car? (and wait to drive it until the car is exempt?) V8's are out of the question as good handling and not butchering the body of the car are key. provided I can find the turbo power plant(which I have).....how much would I look to spend in getting this car up there? LSD and intercooler are in the plans too. I would like some opinions from those who actual…
