I want to clean up my engine bay. Whats the best way to tackle the Valve cover and the Fuel Rails. I want a clean engine bay but dont whant polished shiny valve covers etc. Also my fuel rails are stained, looks like rust but not sure, anyone tackled this? Any tips on what to use to get things looking clean again? Thanks.

Wazup guys , can anyone tell me at what degrees is the best timing in a 240z with compresion ratio of 10.5.1 with a 290 , 495 lift . Right now it's a 17 degrees (stock Static ignition timing ), the vacuum advance does not work do to the the vacuum , now should I run at the stock timing or what will be the best timing for the setup the I have ? Thanks in advance .....

I have an F-54 block with a P-90 head. Indications are that I have an 81 combo since the Turbo is NOT water cooled. When I look at the block, I see 1 water hole adjacent to each cylinder. When I look at the head, I see 2 water holes. The Gasket has no water holes! This doesn't make sense. Carl Beck thought that the holes might be blocked to force water through the water cooled turbo bearing housing. Since My Turbo is not water cooled I do not think that applies here. I can accept that the 1 water hole in the block is increasing flow to a degree, but no water holes for vertical water flow forces the water to flow from front to back in the block and then aft to forw…

Hello all, Im trying to find what the physical size of the L6 engines are (front to rear and from the of the head to the bottom of the block and oil pan). I have a 92 S13 (240sx) and am thinking about doing an L series swap. I saw one while in Japan and it ran quite nice, and Ive been wanting to get an old Z for quite some time now, but would also really like to see how the engine would do in teh S13 body. I am mainly trying to see if I will have to do any work on the firewall or custom engine mounts to make it fit. I have seen RB20DETs and RB26s put into S13s before so I am hoping that an L26 or L28 would fit. Also was the na L28 carbd or EFI. I would prefer a Ca…

The description for the rebuilt engines in MSA (ATK's I believe) states, "Rebuilt on virgin cores." How is this possible??? Can someone explain this to me? steve77

would like more power from 240 dont want to go to bigger engine. is 200hp possible without the loss of tractability and reliabillity? Over optomistic? too expensive? What could I expect with worked head, cam and extractors? Live in Australia so limited avaliability of stuff ??

Nismo Cam's Lets say your me. An 18 year old guy who can't stand people to be beatin in a street race by any ricer ( less the S2000 and NSX i would be happy to have one race me! ) which cam off of that page would you recomend for me? and what other mods would you say i should do? P.S. im just putting ideas together for a project. I intend for it to be an early 240...hopefully 70 - 71 cause i like the emblems more and plus i get to say its a 70 =) but definetly a 240. P.S.S. also on this website they have a 2.8L Big Bore kit for the 240...but when i clicked on it, it was the same as the 3.1L Big Bore Kit....ideas? Matt

The L engine calculator that someone posted on the site.... Here it is here for those who dont have it.... Well i was fiddling ( which i often find myself doing....idle hands...well you know ) and i was thinking about putting an L28 crank into an L24 ( interesting idea eh? ) well with the stock 240Z head from 71 - 73 ( e88 ) the compression jumped to a nice 12.54....a lil high for my taste =) and the gas HOWEVER when mixed with a P79 head and a 1mm HKS gasket the compression goes to a nice 10.6 : 1....( 10.3 with the std gasket ) now would this be a nice lil compression set-up or what? do you think it would work? what im curious about is the deck clearence? will my p…

swithing the L24 crank with the L28 crank would add some displacement right? i THINK the L24 rods are longer, but if not would switching them with the L28's add displacement? of course some work would need to be done to compensate..but what do you think? Matt
