I ordered brass plugs from Amazon and also tried the ones sold by Home Depot but none of them fit. The opposite hole has some sort of rubber plug. Any suggestions on sealing this hole? Howard

I made this table back when we were thinking about using a diesel crank in my 280z block and thought I would throw it up on the forum in case anyone wanted the information. It doesn't tell you anything that you can't find through reading all of the threads on which rods are best for which combinations of parts, but it was helpful in understanding what the overall options are when it comes to finding rods from different Nissan engines to make funky changes. The color coding was to help me figure out what clustered together. Given that you can get whatever piston dimensions you want these days, you can do a lot with this. We went with the non-standard-but-common L28 block +…

Some of you may remember that I bought a hot Rebello motor for my early 260z and when I first started it there was a clunking sound. Luckily that problem ended up being a clutch slave cylinder bolt that was too long and it was resolved pretty easily. Since then I put about 200 miles on the new motor and its been reliable. Yesterday I went to my garage to start the car for work and after running for about a minute there was a horrific clunking sound so I shut it down immediately and took the truck to work. Its been cold (for the middle of California) in the low 30's (about 0 Celsius) but in the garage I estimate the temp to be in the mid 40's. After work I took out al…

I am wondering if anyone has successfully relocated the Charcoal Canister from the engine bay to a less obvious location. Either that or an effective delete process without negative side effects... The photo above shows the Canister beside the fuel filter. I would like to move the fuel line and filter to the firewall along with the fuel pressure regulator. I don't want the negative effects of a delete that gives off a fuel smell either. Or fuel lines running all around the engine bay. Hmmmm. Thoughts?

I was interested in where you can get cool, high pressure air for the intake system, so I thought if I could stick an air-pressure sensor in different places under the hood or even on the outside of the body, I could find a place to get the high-pressure air. Temperature sensors are easy to find, like a thermister. A sensor with an analog output of some kind would be easily monitored: I have a neat LED bar-graph board I made long ago, so I could hook up a sensor to that and watch the lights to see what you can get and where.Thermisters and thermocouples have their own easily-built converters or displays But then, it seems that air pressure sensors are either expe…

Hi, Can someone show me a photo of an original 72 camshaft and cam gear. I would like to identify if my cam gear and camshaft is original. I have a feeling they aren't. My cam gear has no notch and the cam lobes have rough edging as if they were just cut or made. Thanks!

Can anyone tell me how the crankcase vent tube mounts to the block. Mine fell out when we were taking the block out of the cleaning tank. Is it soldered in place or just a press fit.

ok. I changed the manifold gasket on the 280z and buttoned everything up. But now I'm getting a hissing sound coming from what appears to be an area near injector #5. I double checked all the bolt connections, gasket and surrounding areas prior to installation. I started the car up and right away I hear hissing (vacuum leak sound) from injector 5 area. WTH can this be? Anyone else experience this? can the injectors get loose from the intake manifold removal process? Sent from my LG-D850 using Classic Zcar Club mobile

If I drop the transmission while the car is on jack stands, will I be able to get to the shift pin to pull it or should I go ahead and take out the console and remove from the top? It almost looks like I can get to it with the trans still in. I was thinking there would be enough play in the boot to pull the trans back a bit, then while on the jack drop it down a bit giving access to the shift lever retaining pin. Just wondering how other have done this when pulling the trans while leaving the engine installed.
