Rather than clutter up prior threads on rebuilding the Nikki fuel pump, let me raise this question: can a Kyosan Denki rebuild kit be used for a Nikki fuel pump? We have two great articles on the rebuild process, one from Arne in 2009: http://www.classiczcars.com/articles/fuel-system/rebuild-a-240z-mechanical-fuel-pump-r70/ and one from motivealloy in 2014 that is currently active: http://www.classiczcars.com/topic/50679-rebuilding-the-nikki-fuel-pump/ At least one of these articles stated the Denki diaphragm is "different" and will not work. The Nissan P/N for the diaphragm is discontinued and NLA and in motivealloy's thread I recently asked where to locate th…

I have been putting this off, but may as well start while its cool outside. 1st order of business is to get a system in place to safely support the car. I have some metal ramps, so I rolled up on the front then jacked the rear and put those in place (to low to roll up) next I cut up some 6x6 into 2 ft lengths, those will go UNDER the ramps just in case the metal ramps fail. I also have some large jack stands that will go on the flat part of the TC bushing mounts and a floor jack at the crossmember. the idea is to have some of the weight carried by the wheels and suspension, and some carried by the floor jacks. Several contact points all spread ab…

I followed the rebuild guide from How To Modify Your Nissan/Datsun Engine book, which told me to not bother putting the oil slinger back in when rebuilding. I wasn't actually rebuilding (just replacing the crank damper after my last one delaminated), and then a couple nights ago, I threw my fan belt. Are these instances related? Is the elimination of that one shim just enough to screw up pulley alignment?

I searched quite extensively, but have not found an online image or guided instructions for where the manifold spacers go. when I removed the manifold, I wasn't able to see where the spacers were coming off of, so I couldnt record where to put them back. HI guys, I need your help. I've been searching the whole web (almost) and still don't know more than before I started my search. I want to swap my L28 flywheel/clutch to a 240mm unit. I use a stock 4-speed gearbox (out of my 240z). I've read that the 280z 2+2 as well as later 280zx turbo cars use a 240mm flywheel. However, if I look up the flywheel at rockauto, I always end up finding the same (225mm) flywheel for all models (240z-280zx), even though it says 280 2+2: Rockauto I also heard a SR20DET clutch + some other flywheel could work.. If someone had a parts number or a list of all required parts for a swap..that would be super awesome!! Thanks!

Has anyone tried a dynamometer application on a smartphone or tablet? I thought it might be a good idea to find one that actually works, and get familiar with it with the regular car before trying it with the Zed. Almost anything ought to be better than the "seat-of-the-paints" testing. Some apps use the accelerometer sensors, some have you drive from zero to 7000 RPM (or the redline) or just start at a crawl and go to about 60MPH or so. Most of the applications also need inputs like the vehicle weight, driveline losses, frontal area, drag coefficient, etc., and a mount that is strong and vibration-free. If they really work and provide reasonable results, the…

I received a manifold gasket order from OEM Parts Haus, ebay seller. worst experience buying a part EVER! Issue: they shipped my manifold gasket in bubble wrap; just threw the uncardboxed gasket in bubble wrap and shipped it to me. Bizzaro. Who does that?! so yeah the gasket was all jacked up and unuseable. The owner gave me this run-around about email not working blah blah blah. he didnt really seem to care. I say buyer BEWARE of ordering from this seller on eBay. Sent from my LG-D850 using Classic Zcar Club mobile

Higuys, I was using Water Wetter during the summer, and I can also say that the temperature gauge was reading slightly lower than usual since adding the Water Wetter. But winter is coming and I won't be driving the car, so I'm wondering if I should do anything with the coolant. Will coolant with Water Wetter added freeze during a normal winter (30 to about -5 F) or can you spike the coolant wit an anti-freezing additive? You wouldn't want to risk damage to the engine just to save a few bucks, but switching back to full-strength antifreeze is a bit too much to just sit in an unheated building too. You'd have to flush the whole cooling system several times w…
