I bought an aftermarket air conditioner from a 73 240z and put it into my 72z. The unit is the typical one seen in older Zs. My question is where does the drain hose mount? There is a flapper looking piece that goes on the end of the drain hose, does it bolt to the frame or on the firewall? Thanks Bob M

The 240 i bought yesterday has a kind of Air Conditioning system that looks kinda "factory", sadly i forgot to took pictures of the A/C control that is down the ignition key cylinder...its small, black and has a knob wich reads COLDER towards one side. The regular controls look fairly normal to me. The A/C compressor isn't the big square one because teh engine was replaced with a newer one from a S130 and the A/C compressor looks more "modern". Look on the left side, the corner of that little black box can be seen What system is that? Is a Aftermarket unit? Or a Dealer installed one? Thanks everybody, im VERY interested in making the A/C operative, here where i li…

I've been searching for a more efficient and modern heater/AC unit to install into my 280. I haven't quite found one where the guts will fit inside the dash yet, but I wanted the control panel to look like it belongs there... I just want something that doesn't look like I hacked it together in my back yard. I'm not very experienced in molding plastic, nor have I given thought of making a new one. I figured it would be cost prohibitive. So, I want to retain the stock bezel. The opening of the bezel for the control unit is about 7 3/4" X 2" I've included three pictures. "Both.jpg" shows the two panels, side by side. "RAV4.jpg" is a close up on the RAV4 panel, and "SUBI.jp…

I had a 72 Z 36 years ago with air that worked great. I am considering buying one now but all the cars for sale do not seem to have Air. What happened? Was the system bad and thus removed?None of the cars on ebay now have air or if they do it is not working. Also I had Lime Green. Is that a hard color to find? i have not seen many.

So recently I noticed the air when my non-factory ac is on is no longer cold. My guess is all of the refrigerant leaked out. Im guessing this may be because the lines are just heater hose with regular pipe clamps. Is there a certain hose and clamp that should be used? The previous owner said in was R134 but with what I have seen who knows how accurate that is. Is there a way to tell what kind of refrigerant I have? I did not see any stickers. Thanks
