Took my fan housing off to get to the heater **** and found the housing all rusted out at the fresh air intake and flap. Looked at some on Fleabay and found some that looked like they only had one wire connector to assemble. Mine has 2 connectors. Is there a difference between AC and non-AC fan housings?

Hey, I am trying to establish why my 260z's heater does not work. The cables seem to be functioning correctly and moving in a full range but heat never arrives even when engine is up to temperature. I have taken a few photos, can you see if everything looks right or point me in the direction of what to do/check. Only thing I noticed that could be wrong is that nothing is connected to this? Other than brackets being corroded does the rest look correct? this is when set to heat this is when set to cold Thanks, Ash

Hi all, I was in the process of swapping the fan blower over to a kia unit and wanted to check if this fan housing is standard to the 260z or if it is from another model. The housing is plastic and the fan is tiny in comparison to the kia unit. The entire housing is approx 15cm wide with the diameter of the existing fan at 12cm and has no datsun markings on it. The existing fan on left Thanks, Ash

Today I removed the two heater hoses as part of my ongoing effort to restore/refresh the engine compartment. The shorter heater hose that connects from the aft cylinder head elbow fitting up into the firewall was secured with two clamps that are different than any other clamps on my car. I've attached a photo of one of them (the other one is identical to this). I was wondering if these are original or aftermarket/replacements. If they aren't original to this application, then which ones are? The longer heater hose was attached with the standard datsun phillips head screw-on clamps that are found elsewhere all over the car. 1978 280Z. Thanks!

So this is the view of the rear side of my AC condenser I saw after removing my radiator. In case you can't see it clearly in the attached photo, a significant area of the rear surface of the condenser (mainly lower/left side) looks darker/stained/wetter than the rest of the condenser. The system has leaked out almost all of the r12 refrigerant. What would you guess the problem is, and, more importantly, what is the fix/repair?

Is there any difference between the 27105-E4401 heater box that I pulled from my 07/71, and the 27105-E8801 heater box that I've seen advertised for sale? The microfiche doesn’t even list the E4401 heater box, just the E8801 variety for all years of the 240. I’m guessing someone else has run into this - just want to make sure there aren’t any fitment or functional differences if I replace my E4401 with an E8801.

Can I hook up a belt driven 350 short blocks a/c compressor to the 260z’s AC lines?

I have 1976 280Z, early series. I discovered that the passenger side carpet is wet and kinda goey and smells like antifreeze. Am I correct to suspect the heater core? I haven't done a real close inspection yet. I also read that there are a couple hoses inside the car attaching the connectors that go through firewall to core that can fail. My main questions are 1. Can the heater core be replaced without removing the whole dashboard? Something I really don't want to do. And 2, does any one sell a new core? Or are my only options to have this one redone, or cobble up a core from another car?

Howdy, Was planning on ordering AC fittings to wrap up the installation of the vintage air unit. Does everyone usually go the EZclip method? or do people stick with the old crimp style? Ive been debating both, the EZ clip is nice, but the cost of the parts adds up fast, the crimp fittings seem to be cheaper, but the tool is $150-$200! Does anyone know of a shop/person in the Bay Area that will let me bring my own parts and just have them crimp? Or some club member tool rental? Regards

head phones off, skip around its pretty long. Just wanted to show that the factory sys does work well, just cause its old does not mean it has to be replaced with an aftermarket unit.

Are there any factory instructions or diagrams of the dealer installed A/C evaporator unit? I've read most of the threads on A/C and there doesn't seem to be any reference in the FSM nor is there any photos of people removing/repairing the evaporator and fan. I did see a pretty good write up of how the controls move the flaps and valves around. I'm planning to revive my dealer installed A/C and don't know if I should rework it all or just go with a new Vintage Air unit. This is a pretty good write up but it's more than ten years old. Does the Vintage Air unit just bolt right in? It's difficult to tell. The A/C and heater controls don't seem to be well documente…
