Found on eBay recently, and curious if this is how all Jdm cars come from factory? With captured nuts for optional belly pan, that runs under the engine compartment?

This carries on from a old thread; https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/22164-260z-in-japan/#comment-188206 As HS30-H says in the thread, the Japanese market 260z sold cars were recalled, so I presume anything specifically related to this model, the Fairlady 260z, wouldn't have sold in any great quantity. Well, I spotted these on Yahoo auctions Japan a few weeks ago, and I presume these are for this recalled model;

Great to see an old friend of 20 years who is a Z genius Glenn McCoy. Glenn's build a 1972 Nissan Fairlady ZR1. The car will be painted in "Shock Yellow" a radical 2019 Camaro color. The color is very similar to Nissan Yellow Lime code 112. My 1970 Nissan Fairlady ZL will be painted the same and is an example of the body Glenn's car started from. Glenn was ready to junk the 1972 Fairlady ZL as mother nature was taking the car back. The very talented and meticulous Bobby Weaver will be painting both cars. The drivetrain is from a 1996 C4 Corvette and the LS1 engine came from a 2000 Camaro. Except for the coil over conversion, the suspension is bone stock C4 Corv…

Noticed this 46-11-9….hidden under the ashtray door slide. Thinking it may refer to a date of November 9, 1971? Or would it be September 9,1971 Trying to hammer down date of production of my hs30-10324 car if it is possible to get down to a month, or day of production.

I purchased a 1971 HS30 DX with HH tendencies last month😃. My question is to which is correct horn pad. The pad that came with car does not have the outline of a tiny trumpet under or over the Z Marking. The only horn pads I see for sale or online have the trumpet. I also have a copy of sales brochure that also has the button without trumpet….. I’ve read somewhere the trumpet was required by a govt agency? I’ve seen several for sale new and used with trumpet….. which is proper?

I have found the chart KATS graciously uploaded in aug of 2019 here regarding the break down of Japanese models 240z, ZL, and ZG. I'm not completely clear on the numbers represented and lines drawn showing the 3 models. Could use some help with deciphering this chart and accompanying paragraph, describing chart as well. Are there truly no "hard" numbers to go by? At first glance it appears the 240ZL group of cars is smaller then the 432 group. Surely this isn't true or is it something to discuss? Be Gentle if I'm off my rocker...... I have searched and can't truly find detailed info.

As I mentioned on page 22 of JDM'junkies build thread, I have seen differences with the passenger footrest, which HS30-H says was standard equipment on 'DELUXE' models in Japan, and an extra-cost showroom order option on 'STANDARD' models , within that thread. This is by no means comprehensive, so, please correct, add info. Lets start with a S30 footrest Kats says (in the above thread) is from Fairlady Z from the beginning (Oct 1969 ) to 1973 or later . I think the footest we see on the S30, originates from a preceeding model, the SP311/SR311, as my understanding it was an option from 1967 on, part number 74340-25500. But, the "hoop" part was chrome, …

Interesting find from Japan! Kanji: Introduced in Showa 44 [1969] Will be a great addition to the 1970 Nissan Fairlady Z for car shows.

Looking into finishing my 1970 Z-L restoration. The upholstery in the car was not original (instead it was modified from a 240Z), so I'm starting the process of re-doing it to something more in-line with what it would have left the factory with. One detail which we are not sure of is the rocker panel covering, from below the kick-plate, under the door opening, and towards the rear. In several re-upholstered s30s, we've seen this panel be done using carpet instead of vinyl. Is carpeting the original material for this area?

Looking for some assistance on identifying this part under the hood of my 1977 280z. It mounts on the same bracket as the voltage regulator on the driver side wheel well.. The original fault was my door buzzer stayed on constant. Then heard a strange hum under the hood. Tracked it down to this guy. Tapped lightly with a hammer and it fixed it for short period of time. It continues to be an issue so need to replace. No cue what this is?!?!?! LOL! Thanks for any help!!! Jeff
