Hi All, I'm new here. I bought a GS31 fairlady z 2+2. Manufacture 1977. I need some info about the engine. It's an L20, 1998cc, 130PS/6000rpm, 2605mm. Fuel injection. On the block written there is E30. What type of engine is it? Is just an L20? Or an L20e? Any info about upgrades? I'm not expecting a 300bhp car. But just enough to have some fun.

Hello fellow classic Z enthusiasts across the globe, Many of you probably have heard about my story with the 80 Nissan Fairlady Z I had for 30 years that burned up while at Jim's Body Shop in Pasadena, Maryland. Well, I found a new Nissan Fairlady Z to make memories with! I bought the yellow Nissan Fairlady Z that sooooo many had questions about. The Fairlady Z is titled as a 1969 in Pennsylvania, which will remain the same in Maryland as I register the car as the third owner. I will be taking the Fairlady Z down to Virginia to see the original owner who purchased the car new in Misawa, Japan. The original owner has some unique items to give me for the Fairlady Z. So…

My Father In Law passed away and he has some vehicles. One that he has is a 1972 Blue Fairlady Z with original 40,511 miles on it. The vehicle has never been converted to US emissions and does not even have a US vin # attached to it. The body and interior are in excellent condition but the engine has not been turned in quite a while. It appears that this vehicle was oringally owned by a US servicemen as it has a US Armed Forces sticker in the upper center of windshiled dated 1974. The left side window still has a sticker on it from Japan. Everything on the vehicle is in japanese. Where is a great place to put this vehicle up for sale as it may be a one of a kind.

I’m looking for some dimensions of the long arm original JDM fender mirror. Planning to buy a cheap set (https://zcardepot.com/mirror-bullet-style-black-240z-260z-280z-70-78.html?gclid=CjwKCAjw2dvWBRBvEiwADllhn0PO9n9E9yaRQdEEbrvl-4P9_Ckc5zkTip-ZyPXSaW-JEToJ8ncwhxoCuZkQAvD_BwE) and rebuild with longer arms. I will model the parts in fusion 360 then 3d print the arm sections. Also will look to add a spring mechanism at the base. looking for height A, offset B and side offset angle C.

I am new to this forum and under qualified to have an educated conversation with a Z enthusiast. Despite being undeserving of a Fairlady, I do own one and am in the process of trying to get it back on the road. I purchased the car from my uncle while I was in high school in 1997. I had the rust replaced and body work completed as well as the engine rebuilt before leaving it my parents garage for nearly 20yrs. I now have it in my garage and am looking to bring it back to life. I am looking to make connections with others that have done similar projects and that can help me do a respectable restoration of this car. I admire everyone's passions for these cars but I have to b…

On my 72 Fairlady the PO had installed a XR700 electronic ignition combined with a Fireball PS200 coil. Works well however the tachometer was not working (it was not wired in). Wanted to share my solution and check if anyone knows if there might be issues with what I have done. There is a lot of differing advise out there on this. But this is what I believe; I have a tachometer that uses an induction coil to detect the revs. I think referred to as a 3 wire tach. I am assuming it works by detecting the current fluctuations every time the coil fires to determine the RPM. I figure that the coil and the tacho have to be wired in series. First diagram is…

When I got my 1973 fairlady z it came with an assortment of badges, none mounted. I believe the red fairlady z badge and the two red z pillar badges are originals. I have only ever seen the white versions of these, any special significance of the red ones?
