Nix - 240ZRUBBERPARTS.COM as we all know makes a lot of reproduction rubber parts for our restoration projects. He is just finishing up on a replacement part for the original 70-73 antenna. He has the ability to make the ball (two halves) for the antenna where it comes through the body. I was also wanting to see if there is any interest in reproducing the body gasket for the factory sport mirrors. I am taking a poll to see if there is enough interest in these parts to warrant reproduction. What damage would make a reasonable person let a Z become a sacrifice to the universe-or Rust diety? What does it take: Serious unibody body damage, Rusted away floors and framerails, the ability to get volume discounts on the sheer amount of filler needed for the car(over and above/instead of metal work). What collection of damage is it that would make those of you that aren't afraid of some rust, bumps, and panel misalignment walk away from a Z project? Post pictures if you have them!

I was sitting here wondering what experiences you have in the frustration of finding parts. I am in the process of getting everything together to reassemble my '72, and went looking for the few missing pieces I need to have everything(except those one or two thinga majigs that will remain hiden until I reach for them and they are not there). This is where you get to tell me from the perspective of an S30 owner what ZCON needs/has been lacking. I know that the last several years there have been way too few things in the auctions and store for S30s-Last year there were only two items that were S30 specific-what a crock! That was only because they were all (in terms of S30 items)that were donated-I will approach our sponsors that carry them specifically for S30 goodies-S30 owners need more more interesting stuff in the convention store! What are you going to do to benefit from the Cash for Clunkers program? I am not trading in a car, but I did call all of my locla dealers to see where they are sending the cars that do get turned in, and the schedule for pickup! That way I can spot any Zs before they are towed to oblivion and beyond. knowing what was turned in and where it is going will give me a leg up for getting the best parts off of what gets turned in! I don't expect to see any Zs, but the Z shares parts with several other Datsuns, so hopefully in making the rounds, I will run across some good parts! Will
