Okay, I still have my first car I bought in the summer of 1998, a 1982 Datsun 200sx roadster convertible. While moving it from my old house to my new it sprung a leak in the radiator and the temp gauge wasn’t working…. This caused the engine to blow. Now, it’s in the shop getting worked over for a full restoration and I’m looking for a performance cam shaft. Nothing too crazy, but seeing as it only makes like 104hp with the Z22E engine, I’d love to bump that up to 120-140 if possible. I searched everywhere to no avail and even called the Nissan dealership but they just told me there was nothing they could do. Any help is appreciated.

Well, even though my 280Z is still in restoration mode, I went and bought a little red beauty to add to the stable!

Hi all, I was just going through my photos and found a Roadster that got away from me quite a few years ago. I'm still kicking myself for not 'finding' the money to buy it. If I remember correctly, it was for sale in Washington State at a used sports car dealership. Just wondering if you recognize the car or possibly who picked it up. If you don't feel right posting their name, you can PM me. Thanks. Mike

It's an overstatement to describe this as a wood-bodied ZX like Hemmings chose to, but it's a Datsun where it matters: https://www.hemmings.com/blog/2018/03/12/hemmings-find-of-the-day-1979-datsun-280zx/ http://peterportugal.com/

Found this over at Petrolicious, a very good read!! https://petrolicious.com/articles/this-datsun-roadster-has-a-new-heart-and-quite-a-few-stories-to-tell The Datsun Roadster: a truly overlooked gem in the grand scheme of classic, Japanese metal. When you think of Datsun, chances are you envision a 240Z, or a 510. The Roadster remains generally overshadowed. It is what I would call a niche car, and has cult followings comparable to those formed around other cars like the BMW Z3 M Coupe. This may seem like an odd comparison, but the two followings have much shared between them: members of these niches share the qualities of undying loyalty, an almost impossible a…

So I have owned several (8) 240s, 260s, 280s throughout my life and have a pretty good handle on them as far as pricing and where to go for information on them. There is a 1969 roadster 2000 on my local Craigslist that I've been eyeing for a while. I have no idea what current values are, where to get parts, what should be done first...you know, all the good articles and threads we find here on Classic. Does anyone know of a trusted form or whatever that a roadster guy should look in to? https://westslope.craigslist.org/cto/d/1969-datsun-roadster-2000/6596954244.html

I've been looking around for a Z car and have run into a couple of roadsters. None have been driveable though. We all know how easy it is to fall in love with the old Z cars. Have any of you Z owners also owned a Roadster? How did it compare to owning your Z? I'm intrigued by the little car and I think it would be fun to have one. I'd like to hear experiences and comparisons if anyone has any experience with these. Thanks

Here's a picture that has been on my phone since last May, and I just got a way to get it off (without sending it from the phone, which I don't want to pay to do...). Was at a car show in Albuquerque, NM in May 2006. Mark

I have been looking for a short throw shifter for the F4W71-A transmission, and so far, no Z shops sell a short throw shifter. I was searching on ebay once, and I noticed that the transmission in the datsun roadster looked very similar to the type a in my Z, and there were short throw kits for the roadster. Does anyone know the difference between the two, and if they'd work the same?
