I bought these injectors for my 77 280 about a year ago and finally got a chance to install them last weekend. It's an easy job. Have done it a few times on other Z cars. Before I bought them I had mine cleaned and didn't really notice a difference after that. So I decided to bite the bullet and buy new ones. What a difference! I run an in line fuel pressure gauge between the fuel filter and fuel rail. Ever since I installed it I can observe it bleeding off pressure over about a 2 hour period. It bleeds down to zero. It still does. Was hoping that it was one of the old injectors dripping but it was not. I know it's not the FPR because it is new so it must be the check val…

First of all if this posts twice, sorry. I have recently purchased a 76 280Z and apparently have a fuel delivery issue. I have replaced the fuel pump and fuel filter. The car is driven about 6-10 miles daily and a weekly trip of 20-30 miles. The car has been breaking down about once every two weeks while driving the car spits a few times and eventually stops. I suspected that I might have a whole in the pick up line in the gas tank. I decided to top off the gas every couple days and would typically add about 1 gallon of gas. The car ran about 2 months without breaking down. I thought that I had solved the issue and would begin looking at fixing the pick up line. A …

Stock 1978 280Z suddenly won't start and fuel pours out of the throttle body and fills up the air filter housing. If you push pedal to floor, it will start after about ten seconds, backfire and die as soon as you release the pedal. If you partially hold the pedal down it will run but it surges. As soon as you turn the key fuel pours out in a steady stream from the throttle body. Please help my son is trying to leave for college Thank You Randy

I have a very slight leak, when I blow air into the brake booster bung, around the AFM boot, from the throttle body to AFM, it curls up on the ends from those dang Datsun 2 wire clamps. Since it is before the throttle plate should it affect the manifold vacuum? I could get wide hose clamps and stop it probably but if it doesn't matter what does it matter? It's the connection from AFM to throttle body accordion hose that won't seal. It's been a long morning, sorry.

I have a 1977 Datsun 280z that has been acting up. When I drive the car for a lengthy distance and shut it off, or if it reaches full operating temp, and try to come back 10-15 min later and start the car again the car will sputter and die. It usually takes multiple tries with the gas pedal slightly down to overcome the problem. I just replaced the fuel pressure regulator hoping to fix it but it was no help. Any ideas?

Amigos, The AFM on my '78 has been messed with, the previous owner had it leaned out considerably (and it still ran quite rich, probably richer now that I recalibrated it - decreasing the tension about 10 teeth) and upon inspection, it appears that the counterweight has been removed from the wiper. Luckily, I have found someone locally who said he has 5 AFMs, 3 working, 2 for cores, and I think I'm going to check them out this weekend but I have a few questions as the only ones I've ever seen the internals on are mine and the ones that Blue posted in his adjustment and calibration pages on the Atlantic Z site (many thanks, Blue, you saved my arse!). The first question …

OK, a couple notes up front. My 76 is running pretty well. Starts great and seems to have decent power. I have a couple issues I would like to get a little direction on. I am new to the mechanic and restoration world but learning quickly. I have redone brakes completely (most if not all parts), upgraded to the 60 amp alternator and rewired for the internal voltage regulation, added horns and wired, added side marker lights that were missing, replaced internal door hardware, added new radio to name a few. All of these things I would not have been able to do without this forum / site. So thanks to all. Ok to the issues at hand. - I smell either a gas or exhaust sme…

Hello all, This is my first post on this site. I am having some issues with my Z. How do I even begin to explain...! Main Question(regarding my Thread title): I may have to order a new AFM, after talking to MSA there are many... I have A31-625000 which is a 4 bolt (apparently more rare) and are almost never instock. Z CarSource asked me if it was 7 pin or 5 and I verified that it was 7 pin. But here is the funny part: 7Pin on the AFM and on the harness there are only 5 actual female connectors! What the heck! Inside the AFM is a working fuel cutoff switch. I ran though the AFM tests for the pins and everything seems to check out... I really dont want to mess aro…

I have a set of 6 brand new in the box and still wrapped in plastic Bosch 280Z fuel injectors. How much do you think they are worth? I want to list them but cannot find a reference point on pricing them. I will list them in the classified section once I come up with a price. They are listed on Craigslist San Diego, no bites.

Just a quick question for you FI gurus. I've got a few issues with the FI on my '78 280z (manual). She chugs a bit starting up when it's over 70 degrees F, then settles into a high idle, then comes down to what I believe is about 750 RPM, but this can take a while. She runs pretty well after being warmed up, no sputtering or front/back fires, but runs very rich. The exhaust is always very fumy and the fumes get into the car with the right type of breeze. But before I go about testing different FI bits, I was wondering, since my tach currently doesn't work, does the TPS (or ECU) count on a tach signal for its operation? I'm hoping that getting my tach working or replaced…

75 280z manual Fuel Injectors Pulsating Too Fast and Flooding Engine Fuel pressure is 30-35 (appropriate) When fuel line is clamped off, engine will run til existing gas is depleted. However, when fuel is allowed to be injected at the rate the injectors are pulsating, it floods the engine. ECU?
