The PO of my 77 replaced the fuel injectors with aftermarket while he owned the car. I assume that he picked an appropriate replacement, but he was into "more power" and I wouldn't be completely surprised if he substituted something different than original in an attempt to improve performance. Is there any way to check for sure? What do I look for on the aftermarkets? Any way to double check that I have the right injectors for my motor?

Will a pint cover the tank or will it take a quart? It's a '77 but I'm not sure about the capacity. Thanks for any answers.

Here is old data that I collected 5 years ago: "Lab" Notes Pintle Cap affects spray pattern when not fully seated 20 ohm vs 10 ohm vs 0 ohm current limiting shunt affects flow data - Example Experiment:10ohm gives 173cc/min and 0hm gives 178cc/min Filter presence changes pattern shape Back Flow with filter in makes biggest improvement when cleaning a poor flowing injector Cleaning fluid flow rate changes over time (use gas on final calibration test) - Example 177 cc/min with cleaning fluid = 188 cc/min with gas (6.2% increase) Electric Fuel Pump Pressure changes over time and the recirculating fluid temp. increases slightly. Best Cleaning Techni…

I can get these for about the same price. Standard Motor FJ3s off ebay $165 or FJ707Ts from rockauto for $169. I know Fastwoman uses the FJ3s and likes them. Anybody running the 707Ts?

The hose from the AFM to the throttle body is cracked so I'm taking things apart and cleaning them up before i put a new hose on. I see the service manual says not to get water in and/or around the AFM. What would be the best way to clean both the outside of the AFM and inside the barrel of it. For example, would it hurt the AFM to get some kind of carb clean and take it outside and spray it down? Or is there a better and safer way to clean it up? Thanks Gary

Then yesturday it came back, but today it ran without any leak AGAIN.is this injector bad or can it be fixed.has anyone had a similar problem.by the way in youtube a person had the …

So I bought a 77 (made in 76) 280z that was dead and stuck the engine/transmission from a 79 280zx 2+2 into it, the thing is, its always had an issue where it would idle really low at a rest, more so when warm, around 500, when i have the idle set to around 1600 when hot just to combat this problem. Anyway i figure out it was most likely the MAF so i ripped it out, cleaned it up, put it back in, and it was working almost perfect for awhile, but now it seems to have died completely. The point of this post is; it never did really work quite right, and my zx engine is slightly different from that of the 76 i put it in, so which MAF do i buy? Will one for a 79zx work better t…

Hi guys, Ok, so I'm looking at a project this year. My car is fully restored and I've got triple Mikuni's installed. It's a great system, but, just coughs and sputters a bit too much for me. I have a full EFI system out of a 78 280z including computer and intake with brand new injectors. Does anyone have a tech article on making the swap happen? That said, is it possible to use my existing fuel supply piping and fuel tank (I've got a '71)? Mike

Anyone that has read my "I think I'm getting somewhere post" and other EFI post's know that I am chasing a fuel pump shut off issue. My question is; is it normal for the fuel pump to run with the EFI relay unplugged? That's both the white and black connectors unplugged. The fuel pump still runs in the "on" position, engine not running. As you can tell I'm drawing at straws right now because I'm running out of things to test using my FSM. I'm always able to find and fix any problem with my cars but this one is baffling. Appreciate any help at this point. Bob

What should the resistance be for the air temp sensor inside the AFM? I have read 2500 ohms. In both of my AFM's they only read between 1700 & 1800 ohms. Should I be concerned?

Has anyone replaced rotted hard lines from the tank to the engine with braided ss lines? I know folks that hve fuel cells in place of the stock tank use them and I'm considering doing the same just with the stock tank. Would I be able to cut the barbs off the lines from the tank and flare them for -an fittings? Thanks for any replies. BTW, tried the search function w/o success.

Hey guys....I'm trying to fix what is basically an extended cranking problem on a 280 that's been warmed over with a cam and some head work. My customer wants it to start a bit quicker on initial start up. I figured it was just an issue of the engine building up some compression first with the larger cam but after digging in a bit it looks like the cold start injector isn't working. I followed the FSM tests...if I jumper the injector off of the batter directly it cycles and squirts a small amount of fuel...which I assume is ok since the fuel pump isn't running when I jump it. However I ran a meter on the thermo switch and it didn't seem to meet the specs outlined by th…
