So I was pretty much just wondering if any body has tried one of these yet they come up from time to time on ebay and I gotta say i really like the way they clean up the manifold area ( they are custom fuel rails that fit the L-28, And if you have one was it relatively simple/ easy install(I don't really mind if its a pain in the arse either as long as i dont have to go and buy two hundred more dollars worth of parts just to hook it up, you know what I Mean? I think looks pretty srtraight forward but who knows these days. And are you happy with the performance of the part and if so how much power does your engine have. I'm thinking of stroking out my motor so it needs…

I am trying to identify what appears to be a missing component. I have been searching previous threads/posts and every photo, even the FSM. I have spent a great deal of time over the last two months reading everything to learn as much as I could to resolve several vacuum related issues (heater, mostly) and have been succesful thus far. I thank everyone who has contributed so much info- links, articles and documentation. I am willing to admit I may be overlooking something but I'm asking for assistance. There is a connecter (not connected) and what appears to be a block-off plate (diamond shaped) located on the intake. I am assuming that the connector would be related …

I'm new to the forum thing but I'll get it eventually sorry for my improper etiquette. here's what I have, what I have in it and the problem I'm having. 75z, 3.0 pistons, bigger cam, 240sx turbo injectors, 240sx turbo mass air flow meter with the guts out of my stock air flow, 240sx turbo throttle body, the intake has been honed (board out), header, 2 1/4 exhaust, 80 something zx turbo fuel pump, adjustable fuel pressure regulator on the rail. I have the stock ecu and harness. I adjusted the fp to 35 psi and it flooded on cold starts but if you could keep it running at the red lights it would run good wide open. The 02 was reading 1.00-1.50v so I adjusted the tension on …

Here is what happened tonight on my 1978 z car Well I finally got around to hooking up my new actron fuel pressure guage. For better or wrose, I put it after the fuel filter. It was easier to put it there for my first time doing this. Here it is http://www.actron.com/product_detail.php?pid=16173 And here is what happened. My wife turned on ignition but not start it. Immediately it shot up to like 40 psi and stayed there. She turned it off. It stayed at 40. Turned it back on again w/o starting it, and it stayed around 40 Then she started it...and at idle it stayed around 40. I dont know how accurate this fuel pressure guage is though. That seems way too high. Is it possib…

I have 6 new injectors I want to install in my 1978 280z. And I also have some new quick disconnects for them too. But I planned on installing the quick disconnects later, as a second step. Can anyone give me any pointers, tips, tricks, traps to look out for when doing this job? I have read over the procedure in the FSM, and been studying the fuel injection system in the car. It seems fairly straightforward. I will take my time, am in no rush, I just dont want to mess anything up that costs me a LOT of money or heartaches. I am NOT a mechanic. Never done anything like this before. But I bought the car to also help me learn how to work on things like this and feel rewarde…

Hey guys I'm in the market to replace the fuel pump in my Z. Do you guys have a particular brand you prefer. I bought from the local import store but it says on it it's remanufactured and I don't know if I'm really comfortable putting it on the car. Wanted your guys opinion. Jan

I have been told that the Air temperature sensor in my current (older looking) Air Flow meter is bad. Is there any way I can test it myself to find out if it really is functioning correctly or not? I bought a new refurb AFM, and when I put it on the car, it made it run just horrible. My local Z mechanic was mad at me for putting the new AFM on there, but I really wanted to see how the car ran. Someone else (a relative of mind told me I should try a new AFM and see how that helped the car run). However, now that I have found these forums, I think it was way too premature to get a new AFM. So now I have a new AFM and an old one, and the car definately runs a lot better wi…

I just picked up a 240sx throttle body yesterday to swap out on my 280z at my local u-pick-it salvage yard. I have searched the fourms in vain looking for what boot to use between the new, larger TB and the AFM. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I've searched multiple forums and have not yet found an answer. What does the throttle chamber on the bottom of the TB actually do and why is it adjustable?

Hi all, In the same spirit that we replace thermal flashers with electronic flashers, do relay modifications on our headlight circuits, and replace incandescent bulbs with LEDs, I have an idea that would help to preserve the integrity of the ECU. Furthermore, it would substitute standard, off-the-shelf parts with known parameters for the power circuitry inside our black boxes. In short, we should be able to remove the drop resistors in series with the injectors, substitute a power transistor assembly to regulate current, and then wire the injectors into two banks of three series-wired injectors. One end of each series would be grounded, and the other end would be fed …
