I have a 1975 280z. I purchased a new Fuel Pump (Airtex Products - Master Parts). Does any one know where I can get a strainer for this part? The old strainer is a little bit to large for the new one (plus I tore it a little bit trying to get it out anyway) and I can not find the strainer at Autozone or O'Reilly (they both sell the pump but it does not come with a strainer) The part number on the pump is E8312. Otherwise can anyone recommend a different fuel pump at a reasonable price(one that comes with a strainer) for my Z (and where can I get it)

Hi new to the forum, I have a 77 280z 4sp sat for 15 years, worked on it every few years because of fuel problem. getting divorced and need the car, had choice keep wife or car chose my z. Initially removed tank had it boiled and lined car still didn't run. Now I have discovered fuel tank is blocked internally, so I installed a new outflow line threw drain plug of tank, blocked existing outflow line. Installed new fuel pump,, changed plugs filter, car started right up and ran rough but ran. Problem is now that after driving a couple miles the car hesitates, backfires some when driving and then doesn't go, and drops to idle, i step on gas idles goes up abit then down to i…

Again I come to the mountain for help. Any of you gurus have any idea what this is and why it's here? The chain on the inboard side goes to the throttle linkage just forward of the firewall at the upper joint. The vacuum lines come from the manifold (tee'd off another line) and goes to a switch on the brake pedal. I think that's an interlock switch to keep the engine from starting without the clutch being depressed. I can't find it in any of the manuals I have......

Anyone know if there's a way to replace just the injector connectors on the harness or do I have to snake the whole thing out and replace the entire harness? I have 2 cracked female side connectors and neither will stay on solidly. Thanks!!

Was having alternator trouble with my 280 and like a fool disconnected the negative cable while running to confirm alternator. Car has not started since. I have spark and fuel to the rail. If I spray a shot of starting fluid in the intake it will start. Did i fry something by removing the cable??. My injectors do not click at all while turning over. Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.Thank you in advance, Tim

Anyone have any idea what this part is and what it does? The white "cap" has what appears to be a vacuum nipple that's been broken off, but I can't find a line that would go to it. The part's just downstream of the AFM outlet boot, about even with the throttle body. It's linked to the throttle rod and sounds like there's a diaphragm inside when the throttle linkage is rotated.

This is getting rarer and seems to be working its way out of the car... Sometimes once the car's fairly warmed up and been running a while, the idle will want to stick at about 1500 or so, and acceleration will be mediocre and a bit intermittent... On my first trip in the car the power would occasionally just cut out, but it doesn't seem to do that any more, just this idle/choking up problem every once in a while, 50% of the time the car is fine. I'm chalking this up to the car having sat for the last two years... And driving seems to be making it better so I don't plan on worrying about it. what component specifically might be related to this though?

I have a 76 280z that runs like crap. It's running incredibly rich from startup all the way thru max. Did a little searching and found a EFI site with some troubleshooting tips. Metered the AFM connector at the AFM and found what I think are the air flap pot points. They're the only 2 that had continuity. showed 53.5 ohms with the flap closed and they went open after a few degrees of travel. I'm thinking this isn't normal..... After reading a few threads on here as well, I pulled a cracked 3/4 OD line from the valve cover to the plumbing over the intake manifold. It's about a foot long line. What I found was this bottle brush wedged into the T connector downstrea…

Title really says it all, but here are more specifics. Found an AFM on ebay for cheap, but its for a non-turbo 1982 280zx. From what little i've gathered they are very similar parts to my 280z (1977 to be specific). Just wondering if i can buy this unit and use it in my car, which has a broken one. Thanks for any info
