Hi all, decided to share my recent install of Datsun Spirit ITB's. Got tired of fiddling with the SU's and I always liked the look of 6 velocity stacks on these engines. A friend at work loves my car, but he is a young guy who likes modern stuff! He tried to get me to swap in an RB26, we compromised on ITB's. He provided his garage and his labour for the privilege of working on the car! The motor is bored out 85mm, 280Z crank, 268 comp cam with a street port and polish, it was always very finicky with the SU's, for some reason the weather seemed to affect the way it ran and idled, and it always ran rich even with nozzles turned down to only a 1/2 turn from closed. Anyway…

Hi Guys, I desperately need some help. The car is 77 280z Auto. The car cranks up and starts as well. It was sitting for 7-8 years. Néw oil in engine / trans. Now after it cranks up there is no throttle response. You can floor the paddle and it does not rev up. where to start with? Should I clean the fuel system since the car has been sitting? We put new fuel filter, injectors are new standard from rock auto. I am not sure about AFM or any other air intake stuff. please guide where to begin with on this throttle response issue. regards.

Hi guys, Having a really strange cold start valve issue here. My cold start valve is not firing when connected to the harness even though it is getting the ECU signal to do so. I connected the thermotime switch's bullet connectors together to simulate an "on" signal from the ECU which got power to both sides of the CSV's injector plug during cranking (with those connectors unplugged, the csv's plug only receives power on one side according to my test-light). However, the csv is not firing when connected to the harness (I pulled the csv out of the intake manifold and put its end into a cup to collect the gas and got nothing). I left the nozzle in the cup …

Question for you guys, would jumping the terminals to engage the high-altitude switch improve my mpg? Also, would this cause any engine damage if run like this in an area that doesn't require the switch to be on? Apparently with it engaged, it decreases fuel by 6%.

I had the engine and front end redone a couple of years ago and noticed that when I drove it for the first time that I could hear the fuel pump. It seemed loud and I don't remember hearing it from my memory of 20+ years ago. The first question I have is whether I should be able to hear it when in the driver's seat? If not, is that a sign that I should replace it? It has been maJJking this noise for over 2 years and I drive it about 10-15 miles a week. I then noticed a couple of weeks ago that as I got on the highway to go 60-70 mph and put it under some load that it started hesitating. I backed off and got it back to the garage and it was idling fine. My second…

As some of you might remember, I swapped my original fuel sending unit on my "78 280Z a few weeks ago. Although the original sender measured fuel level adequately, the "FUEL" warning light had stopped working a couple of years ago so I decided to spend some quality quarantine time swapping it for a new reproduction unit from Z Car Depot. I had already tested the yellow/blue lead and assured I had continuity from the "FUEL" light in the dash all the way back to the sender plug. I plugged in the Z Car Depot sender to the harness before inserting it into the tank and upon turning the car key to the "ON" position the "FUEL" illuminated and I could change the position of …

Hey mates Has anyone updated their fuel rail to something like the pallnet or similar and run an after market adjustable FPR? Which ones do y'all use? The ones I'm finding are all 40 PSI + which is ever so slightly above the stock 36 PSI. Thanks Cheers

Im helping out a fellow member who's in need of a fuel damper bracket that mounts above the pump. I've searched from W to the last W.com and haven't had any luck. If anyone has a 280 parts car maybe you could help us out? It would be very much appreciated. Here's what he needs... Thank you for any replies. Cliff

A few of you may know this. But last year I designed and made a coil on plug bracket based of Bryan Blake’s ford coil on plug design. It uses the Nissan coil head used on the Nissan GTR R35. Works perfectly, bolts on and you can even buy a very nice pre made wiring harness from platinum racing products. Coils are fairly cost effective. Takes a specific boot (2-3 actually work) to work. It’s one of the best coils on the market. I believe only the AEM coil beats it. Basically he took my design based off of his, then fixed some of my issues and is now selling them. Bottom pictures are my bracket installed on my 240z.…

I was reinstalling all the hoses leading to/from my carbon vapor canister today and I noticed something interesting. The short hose that connects to the steel line leading back to the fuel tank isn't simply a rubber hose. In the attached photo, i'm referring to the rubber hose connected to the canister port labelled by a blue dot (Fuel Tank). As I was about to reinstall it I thought I'd blow into it just to make sure that it wasn't clogged and, surprisingly, I felt resistance that seemed like a clog. Upon further investigation, I discovered that there is an obstruction in the hose that seems purposeful. This obstruction seems to be metallic and has a small hole through…
