So it's been a while since I removed the dash on my 73 240Z restoration. Since I'm getting old I don't remember things as well. I'm getting ready to re install the dash and could use some help jogging my memory. On the bottom of the dash on the left side there is a bare piece of metal with 4 holes in it. I can't remember if this part of the dash just rests on top of the steering column bracket or if I have to remove the steering column mounting bracket bolts and sandwich the dash plate between the upper and lower halves of the column, then reinstall the bolts. I've included a few pics to illustrate what I'm talking about. Any help greatly appreciated. Paul (zeb…

I ordered a reproduction dash from Vintage dashes December 2021, finally received July 2022. Been psyching myself to do the replacement, since dashes a wiring are not my favorite to work on. When I purchased the car 8 years ago, it already had a full dash cap installed. It actually looked okay, but the tach has never worked, and a cap prevents the removal of the gauges from the front, at least for me. So I really couldn't do a proper repair of the tach. And I want to fix the clock, which always reads 2:40. All other gauges work fine. Here's the new dash: Here's the old full dash cap. Also the glovebox door fits tight and has a str…

I am restoring a 240z heater box. The little rubber grommets that the side vent door rods slide through (to open and close) are hardened and falling apart on my box. I found something very close to the original grommets at Marco Rubber. Part number is GMT1029. Their phone number is 603-468-3600. No way to order online. I can't recall ever seeing suitable replacements so thought I would share. Attached are 3 photos.

Hey Guys, So I decided to start tackling the problem as to why my 1977 280z speedometer and odometer do not work. When I got the car the odometer had one less mile than it does now, so it at least worked for 1 mile. I never saw it working though. I would like to state that I am running a 81 280zx 5speed transmission and 88 turbo 3.7 LSD. To start, I first completely removed the inner speedometer cable at the transmission from it's sheath and inspected it. The cable is completely intact with the the square end for the speedometer and other end with the key for the transmission. I then pulled the speedometer pinion gear inside the transmiss…

I am installing NOS storage covers and want to minimize the possibility of them breaking at the fastening knob. Has anyone devised a method to reinforce the cover edges? Thanks, Keith

Now this set of seats is available , only 12 hours left. This is Mr.Sudo’s work , I think his work is the best in the world. Not only using original materials from the manufacturer , but also his technique of sawing, shaping , creating a better support and better comfort. It is a real craftsmanship. I can say they are ‘better than new’. It is very unusual his seats are available on auction sites . Unless you find a set of super mint condition original seats , you will never wish to sell them . Mr. Sudo can do for both 1970 fat seat back with rubber-belt seat bottom and later slim seat back with spring-tension seat bottom. This set as you can see , September 19…

I've started searching online for the vinyls which could be suitable replacements for the original that was used by Nissan on my car, a 1971 240z. For now, I am specifically looking at the A pillar, and front windshield header trim, and I am looking at the vinyl which was used as a covering on the black metal trim piece, which I call rocker panel threshold trim. I am looking for suitable new vinyl materials which are "close" replacements. So far, I have determined that there are vinyls with "backing" and "non-backed" vinyls. However, searching for suitable replacements is not going well. Anyone have any luck sourcing vinyl that is close or anyone have any advice…

There are a number of postings on covering dashboards in leather but they are a few years old. J.F. Customs on E-bay has a kit. I don't know how well it fits. Interior Innovations (I have their leather seat covers) told me that they would be interested in making them but don't have the measurements. What are z-owners using now? thanks Jeff 1974 260Z 2-seater

So early on after acquiring my 77’ I replaced the seat covers that were a disaster. I purchased some replacement covers from EBay before doing much research. Ebay covers color was wayyyy off of course, so when I was living in CA I had a local shop try to match a Vinyl paint to my door panels. I painted the covers but it has never been a decent match, any suggestions on maybe another vinyl paint color to try or the correct seat covers? (image of my interior should be attached below)

I am looking for a Early Z Map Light. The one in the radio console. Or just the switch out of one, if you have a broken house sitting around.
