I've recently bought a '73 240Z and I noticed that the speedometer has been acting strangely. The needle bobs up and down constantly and doesn't really stay still. Is there a fix?

Just got this carpet kit off of Ebay for my 76 280z. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=390159139885 Having trouble figuring out where these two pieces go. Ones 22 by 8 and the other is 23 by 9 at their longest and widest parts. Also what's the part called that goes below the hatch and behind the seats. The part with the tool storage container on the other side of them. Looks like the seller forgot to include the carpet for them and I can't think of the what their called to describe it to the seller. Thanks everyone.

Hello all After months of procrastinating I finally forced myself to pull the old broken heater core out of my 280z. After removing the blower motor and it's housing I find that the hoses leading to and from the heater core are well a mess. I don't know which one goes where and how they are at all set up. I pulled everything out, cleaned and replaced. Now I'm at the moment where I need to pipe the system but I have no idea where what goes. The two manuals I have are little help but not really as specific as I would have hoped. Does anyone have any picture(s) of the plumbing down there? To and from the heater core, how they hoses go? Please its getting rather cold here in…

The '78 280Z came with a steering column cover that was twist wrapped because the screw holes were stripped out. I was able to find one on eBay and replaced it last night. I also found a new rearview mirror that was not all eaten up like the current one, but I haven't figured out how to mount it yet (haven't tried yet). The new weatherstripping goes on this week , along with some other new rubber bumpers, etc. It's coming along, but no new seats till I know it doesn't leak. The new struts and bushings are coming in this week as well . Excited Davey G

Hi, all. Not a problem, just a question. After a year of deteriorating performance, I decided to replace the turn signal assembly on my 1972 240Z. I had picked up an assembly more than a year ago from a junker simply because I figured it might wear out and would be expensive / difficult / impossible w/o trades involving first borns to replace when the time came. I'm pretty sure I pulled it out of a 1970 or 1971. I install it, the lever seems closer to the wheel than it was. Moved it back to where it "felt" right, wouldn't engage with the pins to flip off after the turn. Moved it back, which also seemed to engage a slot. It's possible I've misplaced my mind, but I s…

Hi all! My first time here! I have a '71 with seriously tired seats. I've done the seat cover kit myself, and I really need to do the foam. Are the Motorsport seat foam kits worth the $$ and effort? Is there anything I need to know before tackling them? I would appreciate any help I can get! Thanks.......

The previous owner replaced all the vinyl with carpeting in my 73 z. I am trying to go back to original with black vinyl diamond pattern. With no originals I don't even know what I need. Does anyone sell a complete kit? I know the shock towers and both sides under center console (trans tunnel)had it. Where else? Is there a list or diagram available? Was it just the vinyl or was there a backing that went with it (like a jute padding)? Is it just glued down? I did a search but didn't come up with anything for a complete kit. I did read that MSA? shock tower did not fit well? Thanks!

So while working on the heater I inadvertently grabbed onto the glove box door and broke most of it off. Does anyone know how to fix said broken door. The "Hing" is where it is broken its torn about 90%. Any advise would be great. Jan

How difficult is it to put a set of retractable seatbelts from a 1977 280Z into a series one 240Z? Are the mount points the same? I realize that the retractors will take up space, but I do not want to drill any new holes for mounting. Have any of you done this before? Thanks in advance.

Haven't found any info on how to replace these. Can these be replaced without removing the dash? From the front or back of the dash? Picked up a nice pair with good chrome to replace my green oxidized originals. Couldn't find any specific info in Wick Humble's book on removing/installing or refurbing, and a search here provided references to them without any details. Anybody have any experience replacing, details and/or pics please?

Hey guys, I searched around and found many post regarding door panels, but nothing that really addressed the backing. I have these beautiful door skins from Les but my backing is feeling pretty weak. I know in the past some were thinking about doing these in fiberglass or some other type material and was wondering if anyone came up with anything. Also, is there a way to take the current panels and some how reinforce them or give them some added support where some pices of the hard board have broken off or are flimsy. Thanks for any input. Randy

So after getting my $300 z's electrical problems sorted out (PO wiring hack job). I decided to put a stereo in the car, nothing special just a cheap kenwood deck. Turns out the PO put speakers all over the car: behind the seats, over the rear shock towers and in the door panels (I hate it when people cut into the door panels for speakers!!!!!!). anyhow I hooked up the ones behind the seats and holy cow! they sound fantastic!
