Anyone know if 260z - 280z door panels are still available? Anyone have the latest part numbers for them. Called my local dealer and they confirmed 240z panels are available.

Recently, I purchase a nice used Personal / Nardi Steering wheel. The ebay auction said the wheel and hub adaptor were fitted to a 1978 280Z. It arrived today. I came home and pulled the stock wheel. The Nardi hub adaptor starts onto the shaft splines, then binds. Are the splines on the steering shaft of the Series 1 240-Z a different size than those on a 1978 280Z? Or, put another way, are 240Z and 280Z steering wheels not interchangeable? Thanks, Gary S.

Unfortunately, the PO of my Z riveted a St. Christopher medallion to an otherwise perfect, original dash. So it's secured with two 1/8" rivets just above the glovebox, and I really want to remove it. But I'm afraid that I may do more damage removing the medallion and repairing the holes. I read a few posts about repairing cracks, but not something as minor as a 1/8" hole. I think if I could safely remove the rivets, I could probably repair the 1/8" holes with a black sealant/caulking of some kind. Am I crazy for trying it? Maybe I should just leave the medallion even though I think it looks like s**t? Any thoughts before I try it?

Here's some information that I could have used about 2 months sooner, before I bought my new door panels from a re-seller. Oh well, maybe this will save someone else a few bucks. New door panels are available from the Nissan Parts Dept. here in Canada. According to the post on Hybridz, where I heard this, they are around $200.00 per side. I don't have any particulars and am just passing on a lead if you are in the market for new door panels. Here are the current Nissan part numbers: H0901 N3300 H0901 E4100

I am going to be installing the new dash soon and I am planning on refinishing the metal peice that goes between the dash and window. What is the stock finish? It looks like paint but thick?

I am looking to upgrade my original AM/FM Radio in the console. I want to leave the original look in the console and put a remote IC stereo in the glove box - total seperate system to the original stereo in the car (so when you open the glove box there will be a total faceplate with the upgrade reciever in the entire space of the glovebox - all nicely tucked away out of site). I am looking at a Retrosound Digital Media Reciever with the IC cable to run the remote control so I can change songs - stations - MP3 - without opening the glove box. I am also planning on installing the black speaker panel from MSA. http://retrosoundusa.com http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PR…

I've searched the archive, but haven't found an answer. I'd like to hear from anyone who has put BMW 318 or 325 seats in an early Z. Do you need to mount them lower than the stock seats mounts or just fab a simple mounting bracket on the stock floor mounts? First hand experience appreciated. Thanks, Dennis

Guy's.... I purchased a new club sport steering wheel from MSA about a year or so ago, The wheel is nice, BUT the adapter leaves something to be desired.. My main complaint is that the contact plate on the underside of the adapter sits so far up the adapter hub, that I need to bend the copper contact arm almost 90 deg. perpendicular to mounting point to reach the contact plate. I had sent the combo stock, and T/S stock out to Dave for R&R, and made some other mods to the car, got it all put back together, and when I went to take the car out for a test drive, any slight turn of the wheel left or right causes the horns to go off. It's possible I may have a pinched wire …

Right now I am trying to fix my jammed lock mechnism and the part keeping me from even getting the door panel off is the damned plate behind the interior handle. The passenger side comes off with ease but I noticed the PO put a piece of 3M sticky tape on the back. On the drivers side he must've put friggin' gorilla glue cause its not coming off no matter how much force i put on it. I'm even using a putty knife and a box cutter at this point and I've only managed to lift the darned thing a couple mm. I need to get it off to get to the screw behind it!!!!

Did the glovebox on the 1978 280Z have a big notch in the back? I mean the right side is deeper than the left, so the owner's manual doesn't lay flat- you have to curl it up. I think it's notched for the defroster hose to have room back there. I'm just used to a glove box with a regular square shape, or is that right with the notch? thxZ
