History: Choke light and choke both worked. Then choke light worked and choke didn't. Adjusted the cables, choke worked, didn't notice the choke light. Now choke works and choke light is always on. If I push the choke lever all the way forward the light goes out, but then it returns to it's original position and light goes back on. I figured the cable was too tight so I loosened the clamps and pulled the lever back a bit thinking it would self adjust. But it didn't. Pulled the lever all the way back with loose clamps then all the way forward and still nothing. Gave up. Cable position doesn't seem to have any effect on the choke light. It's always on. Choke will …

Well, I finally have a week off from work and some time to work on the '77 I bought back in September. I had gutted the interior and have all the parts to put it back together, most coming in the past week. I figured I would do it right and do the POR 15 treatment on the interior and use Dynamat before laying in the new carpet. That required removal of the nasty stock sound deadener. The good.... I used the dry ice method I found here and my sincere thanks go out to whomever figured this out because it worked fantastic. I got about 10 lbs of it from my work yesterday and laid it in. Came back 5 minutes later with a hammer and small chisel and just tapped it and the p…

Has anyone installed the Automatic door lock mechanizm from MotorSport? I purchased the easy install unit....and it might have been, if I would be able to find the room for the actuator, being able to place the door panel back in. There is a hole in the interior door that kinda has room to install the actuator, but the door panel will not fit back in place. If anyone has purchased this unit and had success with it ... please give me some pointers. The reason I went with automatic is because my key locks do not work and I figured oh well, if I'm gonna spend the money why not automatic.

I've got this spare right side door panel in our garage that I'm planning to put up on Ebay and see what happens because I have no use for it as it doesn't line up or fit my car. It measures 3ft' across and 20.5" down. I was wondering by chance if you guys knew what year(s) and what models (2+2 maybe) this fits as it's obviously not for a '76 280z. Thanks guys, I appreciate it!

Below are pics of my door panel and my center console. My console doesn't have a lid or hinged top to it. Is it supposed to have one or is the way I pulled it out of the car correct? Also, my white door panel has a blue paint on the chrome trim strip at the top. Portions of the blue are worn off, so I don't know if it's supposed to be chrome and someone painted it blue or if it's supposed to be blue. I'm not shooting for a concours restoration that is exactly correct, however I would like to keep it as original as it makes sense. Of course usability and cost concerns will also drive how the car is restored. I appreciate your help!!

I purchased this nice looking steering wheel from MSA (http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/SWM/50-3134) - problem is that the horn button is recessed 1" or so down into the wheel. I can't find any pics of the wheel actually installed to see if that is normal (it looks stupid) or if my mechanic has missed a step with installing it onto my '73 240Z? He followed the instructions that came with the wheel...

Subject = 1972 240Z Yesterday, my steering wheel--the factory-installed "mahogany" wheel--began slipping on the steering shaft. Upon pulling the steering wheel, I was greeted by a pile of gray dust. Evidently, the steering wheel nut had been working loose for some time now and this "looseness" has caused a grinding down of the groves inside the steering wheel. Except for the top 1/8", the grooves are pretty well worn smooth. The teeth on the steering shaft are in good shape, however. At first glance, it appears that the damaged part is not replaceable/removable from the steering wheel. Therefore, I have: -wirebrushed all the loose dust from what's left of the groves …

I recently won these RED side panels on EBay, however my 71's interior is Butterscotch.....so I grapped a Preval sprayer and some color matched paint and.....poof...new panels. This project turned out better than I expected so I'm going to tackle the plastic panels so everything looks new. I'll throw up some more photos as the project rolls along.

Does anyone know what the correct thread diameter and pitch is for the spare tire T-Bolt on the early (70-73) Z cars? I have the plate, but not the T-bolt, and have not been able to identify the bolt size needed. It doesn't seem to match any bolts, or taps that I have on hand.

Hi guys, I have a tall ratio 5 speed in my 74 and the shifter hits the console in the odd gears. Does anyone know if a shortshifter from motorsport auto would solve this or if i'll just have to cut the console to get it to fit correctly? Thanks, Brian

I am looking for 240Z owners in the Stockton CA area looking to reduce noise and heat in your interior. I have a contact in Stockton who makes prefab kits for all types of cars. He wants to do a S30 kit and needs prototype cars to put the kit in for 50% off the regular intsalled price. This is a great bargin. Please PM me with pictures of the car you want the work done to and I will get you in touch with the company. This a great opportunity....for once I wish I lived in Stockton. The price and weight gain to the car are forthcoming in the next few hours. This kit will be custom made for your car, you will have the prototypes.
