I'm curious what you guys think of changing the black faces to white gauges in the 240z? I'm thinking of buying a spare set of gauges to do it to so that i can change back at a later stage. The easier to read gauges and blue bulbs would be easier than the black with green lights but it's just not a very period correct thing at the same time. I've attached the gauge set so anyone can download them here and try it out. :classic: guages.zip

Hello all, Did a little search and found this thread: http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4066 It was helpful in some ways, but I don't want to just replace my instriment panel lights with regular white bulbs, I would rather go with some blue or red color lights you would see in todays VW's, I just like the look. I haven't been able to find a source for these online. Has anyone else done this change?

Ok , all the vaccum lines appear to be connected as they should in the engine compartment. Went over all of them yesterday , made a repair or two as far as old lines that were getting hard due to age, a split in one at the connection, then checked as best I could under the control box for the AC / Heat/ Defroster etc, look as if they are all connected. HERE is the problem , the damper will not close which does not allow heat into the car nor will the defroster work. The blower works fine , have cold air coming in the dash vents but no defroster or heat, there is no sound like the vaccum noise you here when switching from Bilevel or AC to heat or defrost.. Any ideas, this …

Hello guys, I was wondering if anybody has some extra seats just sitting around...I found out why one of my seats was uncomfortable...it was missing some of the black round spacers! I need 3 of them to make both seats the same height. These are the black six-point plastic 'nuts' that go on the studs that the seats mount to the body with, I beleive stock that the Z (at least my 72) had 2 of these spacers on each of the 4 studs. I need 3 to make the seat the correct height. If anybody has some extras, please pm me. I'm willing to purchase them, if need be. Thanks! God Bless.

between my Z and my g/f's Z, we have enough interior parts to make one good one, which is fortunate since mine will be a club racer and hers will get restored. problem is, the hard plastic panels in both cars are super brittle from age and exposure. is there anything anybody knows about that can be applied to the plastic pieces to reinforce them? a couple panels from her car just crumbled when pulling them out.

I'm helping a guy I know do some small mods to his 280Z because the DMV requires them for safe driving. He also wants to do some shows with the car, and wonders how the judges would react to the extra stuff. opinions? thx

In order to help the marginal ac performance I am considering applying some insulation under the carpet and wherever I find any dead space between the interior parts and the body. Anyone have a recommended source for this kind of stuff? I bought something like this from JC whitney before but I'm assuming that there's someone that sells this stuff in bulk for a better price. If not then I'll just see what google finds. tks Don

Just installed this Grant wheel on my car and im really happy with it. I ordered the kit from MSA and it included the wheel, adapter, and Z horn button. I haven't gotten a chance to clean off the fingerprints and polish it up yet

Clock motor 1 2

Oh no, not another bloody 'my clock doesn't work' question... :stupid: From what i've read on this the main problem with Z clocks is that they get all gummed up and stop working. Well, i took mine apart and it looks brand new - see the attatched pics. This leads me to believe that it is the motor that has stopped working as from what i've read this is the other bit that goes. It is from a 260Z and the motor is integral with the spindle thingo (i think). Question: does anyone actually know how to fix this themselves, i'm pretty keen to have a go myself and learn something new rather than take it to a watchmaker or something.
