Well I picked up some first-generation RX7 seats and did a good bit of the work to fit the driver's seat. But it's too high for me, just as Montoyafan suggested a month or so ago. I was pretty surprised, because this is a low seat, and I also removed the 3/4" or so of spacers that come stock between the Z and its rails. Feels like I'm maybe 1.5" higher than I want to be. (If somebody wants these seats cheap, PM me. They're dark grey vinyl with a face of two-tone grey cloth, nice shape.) Anybody who's put in Miata seats -- do these sit roughly as low as the original Z seats? What about Honda del Sol seats? By some reports these are made by Recaro. Also, has anybody used th…

I did a search and found many helpful posts. Need something potent but not harmful -- have a 1973 white interior and want to save at least some of it. I can get the oil-like stuff off, it's the general dirtiness that's hard. I already used Fantastik, which is often good with that kind of thing; not so good here. After reading something by Enrique, I hit the West Marine site and turned up these options: 3M Vinyl Cleaner/Restorer 17.99 MEGUIARS Heavy-Duty Vinyl Cleaner $11.99 MEGUIARS Vinyl & Rubber Cleaner/Conditioner From $11.79 USD STARBRITE Plastic Polish/Restorer $9.49 USD STARBRITE Vinyl Shampoo $7.99 USD STARBRITE Vinyl Polish & Cleaner $13.49 USD WEST…

OK - this should be an easy one. I just got a 1970 radio as the PO of my car sold it to me with no radio (and for some stupid reason I want the car to be original). It is really dirty so I need to take of the knobs and faceplate to clean it. I've been gently twisting and pulling on the knobs to get them off but nothing wants to come off. I am really good at breaking stuff trying to do this so I thought I'd swallow my pride and ask for help. How do you get the knobs and faceplate off? Oh....and while we're at it. Any pointers on cleaning/refurbishing one of these? The silver that should be above the knobs is worn off. Any clever ways to bring that back (like mode…

(I have a 74 260) I need some carpet. VB has the most options from what i've seen... In order of Best design/look is: Molded "75-76"----260, 280---84-430 $350(they don't have molded for 74 ) Deluxe "74"--------260--------84-301 $280 Standard "74"-----260--------84-401 (Funky) Cut & Sewn "74"---260--------84-413 (Crap) This is going by the pictures in the catalog for top two, but the pictures are for 77-78. The only reason I like the molded over the deluxe is well it looks more molded...duh it fits over the tranny tunnel and the back pieces look like they would fit snug. The deluxe not as much looks only semi fitted. So if I decide to go with the molded the big questi…

In photo attached, what is that symbol just to the left of "ISO", before the ground? Any chance there's antenna control involved? (This is a Datsun radio.) thanks, Steve

Check out the pictures of my series 1 seat belt buckles. As you can see they are quite worn. Luckily they function properly but I thought it might be fun to make them look better. First - does anyone have pix of what a new one looks like and second - any tips on how to repaint or refinish? I've searched for threads and didnt see anything out there. Thanks....

I currently have a Panasonic CD player in my Z. The heater control panel in my Z is broken along the bottom and I've been thinking of replacing it. And if I spend the bucks to get a new HCP I don't want to wreck it to make the CD player fit.:ogre: So, I've been thinking about putting the stock radio back in, but then I don't have my tunes!:tapemouth I've seen a post or two about using an FM modulator, and I think that might be the way to go. I've seen good things about this unit: http://www.vr-3.com/vr3_fmmod.html It plugs into the cigarette lighter and has a USB input and a 3.5 mm stereo plug input. I works with MP3 players, iPods, memory sticks, portable cd pla…

Hi all, I'm in the process of tooling up for a production run of "choke" knobs. I do however have a dilema as both of my samples are different. Can anyone tell me from which model/year/market either of these came from? [sorry about the detail, it's the shape I'm concerned about]. Are there any other different knobs? Cheers MOM

Both of the tool 'compartments' behind the seat of my 1970 240Z are empty. Well, the passenger side one has a jack but that's it. What originally came in those 2 compartments when the car was new?

The switch in my center console near the choke knob (switch pictured) is toast. I can't even get it to move. 2 questions: 1) Can these be repaired and if so how would one repair it? Can I soak it in something to get all the gunk out or take it apart or both? 2) I'd prefer to replace it. I've never seen one of these on EBay. Anyone got a working switch to donate or sell? BTW - I'm also looking for the plug that fills the hole next to the defroster switch in the choke plate. Anyone got one of those for donation or sale? Thanks.......
