Hey everyone.... I got a question for the board... I'm in my final phase of R&R of the 240... One of the last major interior things I need to do is either replace or referb the passenger, and drivers seat. A local shop that sells after market seats also will R&R the orginals, new seat webbing, foam, covers... The cost is about 600/seat, the mechcanisim that raises and lowers the seat back is pretty worn, and I always have to adjust it up cuz it always lowers it self back down. The shop carries Corbeau, Recaro, and a few others... Should I have the stock seats R&R, or get new after market's ?? The only ones that seemed to fit me well were the Recaro's, the Corb…

All, My series 1 240z has had it's dash dials out at some stage. The pointers are that bright fluro orange/red paint. Is this standard on early examples? I suspect not.

I found a 240Z mirror on the internet (ePay) and it seemed cheap enough. So I bought it. At $40 for a new mirror, I thought it was a great deal. Turns out I looked at the picture and some of the text but not all. Got it in the mail and I got....ta-da....a mirror. Literally a mirror, the glass in other words. Yeah I'm not exactly happy about that. So anyway, not one to cry about it, supposedly its an "easy" install to replace the glass. But how does it come apart? I've looked the mirror over for perhaps 39 minutes and its not very obvious. Any thoughts?

I realize they take a different face plate. But... Are the radios the same UNDER the faceplate? Will a 280 AM/FM radio fit into a AM faceplate, bolt into the dash frame and hook up to the antennae and the power wire? I have never worked with these radios so I am lost on this deal. Can someone help me out here? :nervous:

I looked through the Microfiche CD, and I didn't see any pictures of the panels under the dash, kickpanels, or whatever is under there. I know there is supposed to be a panel on the side where the fusepanel is; which is one thing I probably need to get. I only have one piece with the curved end (looks like a ski) that goes along the bottom edge of the dash. Does anybody know what it's called on the Microfiche CD, or which screen to look at, or even where one might order kick panels? thx

I just bought a pair of original. early 240z sunvisors. After 30+ years of sun exposure, the padding inside has, of course, sagged and pulled them out of shape, but the material and everything else is in great shape. Has anyone thought of, or attempted to open these up some way to replace the inner padding? Any good ideas how one might attempt to do this and then close them back up to look new, again? Thils club has a good collective brain trust, so I appreciate any ideas you may come up with. I'm one of those restore to original guys, but this might be a bit too optimistic to think that this could be done with good results. Thanks for your thoughts. Dan Origina…

I've got a pair of seat belt clips and am trying to figure out where they attach. I've searched these groups, the galleries here, and the parts CD with no luck. I'm assuming that they mount just behind the side windows through holes in the front edge of the quarter window plastic trim. There are three holes along the forward edge of the trim piece. The top hole is obviously for the coat hanger hook as it has a small index hole next to it. It's the other two that I'm not sure about. The lower hole provides access to a threaded hole in the unibody. The middle hole provides access to a thin metal tab that has a small hole in it and which appears to have once had a scr…

Does anyone know what these seats are out of? They are both (Driver and Pass) leather, and electric forward/back and tilt. I was thinking possibly Acura, Honda or Mitsubishi. Can you name them?? Any thoughts on this would be great! Thanks! ~Richard '73 240Z

Here is what I think should occur in the order I believe it will happen. 1] Put the window posts and side roof post vinyl in place 2] Put the front window post vinyl in place 3] Install the headliner 4] Install the windshield (anytime after 1-3 are finished) 5] Install the weather stripping around the doors. 6] Install the rear plastic panels (front and then the rear) 7] Install the rear t/lights plastic panel 8] Install the door panels Now, can anyone see anything that is out of order? (I wait to do the windshield after everything else is done) I am starting on it tomorrow so now's the time to speak out!

I'm planning to remove my door trims to have them refurbished. Removal will involve undoing the door lever, armrests etc (something I've not done before). Will I be able to leave the car in a driveable state while the trims are away being spruced up? ie, will I still be able to open, close, lock the door and drive the car without the trims?

Put the Leather Scat ProCar seats from my '82 280ZXT into my '72 240z. Lumbar support is a beautiful thing!

Has anybody done this? Is this frowned upon in a stock class show car? I have an extra 72 dash I'd like to have restored instead of having to take out the one out of my car while waiting for it to come back - could be a long time. How would you do it? Im assuming carefully drill out the rivets then use a rivetting tool? Never riveted so if sombody has I'd be interested in how it's done. Also - JustDashes or DashRestorations - whose work is closer to factory original? I want to find out on my 72 before having it done on my 70. thanks in advance guys...
