After driving for months with a big hole where the heater control panel goes I spent most of the afternoon trying to get a brand new panel installed. This ended up being more difficult than expected as the restored dash makes the vinyl a bit thicker and I didn't want to crack the $135 piece of plastic by trying to force it. In addition to the dash I've got new carpet and insulation. Take a look here: http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=11942&sort=1&cat=500&page=1

Anyone who's done a full resto on their interior and in the process removed the pedals might have the answer i'm looking for... the throttle linkage mechanism goes through the firewall and is connected to the gas pedal with the usual ball/cup type of fitting... does anyone know if that ball at the top of the gas pedal arm is welded on? pressed on? threaded on? thanks, -e

There was a guy at today's Georgia Z Car meeting with a (1976, I think) JDM Fairlady Z 2+2. The passenger side had a footrest bar that appeared to adjust not unlike what you might see on a bus. Was this a factory option? I've never heard of this.

I have an early 260Z, it has the wooden 240z type gear shift. Does anyone know if this is correct for my vehicle? I know the later 260's have the black leather looking knobs. It is the 4 speed. thanks Brant

I've Been Searching The Net And Did A Lot Of Searching On Here And Most The Places I Can Come Up With Only Sell Some Parts And Mainly Service Only The 240z.... My 280z Interior Is Ok But I Want To Freshen It Up. What I'm Looking For Is A Complete Carpet Kit (including Trans Tunnel), Complete Vinyl Kit, And Complete Plastic Panel Kit.... If Anyone Has Any Links To Where I Can Get These Products For My 1975 280z I Would Really Appriciate It.

Hey All After seeing this ebay auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7917549896&category=33696 Id like to ask if the plastic sheeting shown on these items is correct and original? I originally thought that the weather sheet was attached to the inner metal skin of the door panel itself, but after seeing this auction and also finding remenants of plastic sheeting on my door trim panels under the upper edge lip trim, I am starting to question my thoughts/understandings. Is it possible that the sheeting was on the trims themselves AND on the door panels? Regards Joseph

Hey all, I live in perth, australia and have had no luck finding a 240z console off a '71. I've called up a few fibreglass fabricators and they tell me I'm gonna need the dimensions of it, for them to be able to make one up for me. Is there anyone here that could retrieve these for me? it'd be greatly appreciated. Thanks again, Sean

The vinyl cover on my door sill plate(s) is starting to peel off. What are you bozos (oops- bros doing to refurbish those? Can you remove all the vinyl and polish or chrome? Vinyl looks cheap and I usually drag my shoe over it which is peeling the vinyl off. I like the clean look of the older look. Vinyl is so '70s... thx

Does anyone know if you can remove a tacho from a 260 (i have '74) from the back of the dash? The dashcap is hindering me from removing it from the front.

I am trying to be money conscious and learn how to work on cars (in all aspects). I might attempt to reupholster my 280zx, but I am not sure where to start. All I need to work on is the headliner (I ripped mine out), and the whole rear area near the hatchback (sides mostly). I've never done it before and it doesn't seem to be too difficult, but I've been told it is better to visit a professional and pony up the dough than to f*** up. I just don't seem to be happy by the fact that reupholstering my car professionaly will cost somewhere around 700-1500 dollars. Do any of you guys know any books, websites or people that I could talk to? Would any of you be willing to take th…
