Anybody have any suggestions on how to refinish the metal panel on the dash that covers the defroster outlets. The one on my 72 is kind of grungy and no amount of scrubbing seems to help it. It seems to be textured below the black surface. I wonder if anybody has repainted theirs? Thanks in advance. Chris

Hi guys I need to replace the gray seat-belts in the '77 280Z. Of course they MUST be red! Did Datsun ever have red seat-belts in any of their early Z's. If not, do you think that dyeing is an option? If they are available should I give Mid-West Z a call? Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated:classic: Vicky

My sunvisor is a bit loose and hitting a bump usually brings it down. Is there any way to tighten it a bit? I really don't want to use velcro strips on the roof lining to keep it up. Cheers

Has anyone done a succesful restore on original carpet? My carpet ('78 280) is in super shape, just faded to that red/brown color from the original black. Is there a good carpet dye out there. I had a previous post I picked up for a VHT product, but it appears to have been a vinyl dye. Thanks, ecp48

Hey guys, I sent you an email I think a week ago or something saying they were in the process of clearing customs in Long Beach and I needed added funds to cover the COD return freight charge. Folks, I've been searching archives till I'm blue in the face, and I now need to ask for your help. I'm trying to find a set of OEM seats that will work in my '75 280Z. The mounts apparently sit higher than in the 240, so the usual seats used there are too tall for the 280. I test fitted a set from a '91 Talon, which work so well in the 240, and they are just flat too tall for me. I'm only 5'9", but I sit tall in the seat when I drive, and my head would be against the roof. Have any of you successfully transplanted seats from another car into your 280? As opposed to totally restoring the interior to original, which would mean of turning the whole car to original, I think Im just going to make a car with a more modern look. I need a few ideas so I can start sketching and get a general idea of what I want the interior to look like. Im probably going to go for a tan and black interior color scheme. Keep the dash, but get a dashcover due to cracking, and I think I can get some black seats out of a wrecked Miata, and the rest is going to be changed. Thinking so far, make some black speaker or just regular boxes covering the three sides of the trunk area, covering the lower, but not replacing, the rear quarter plastic panels …
